205 <br /> <br /> It was moved by Councilman Mori, and seconded by Councilman Reid, that Resolu- <br />tion No. 74-12, reaffirming City Council support of staff, and that staff continue <br />to follow the direction of City Council with regard to the Sunol Sewage Treatment <br />Plant until phase-out, be adopted. <br />The roll call vote was as follows: <br />AYES: Councilmen Herlihy, Kinney, Mori, Reid, and Mayor Pearson <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENT: None <br /> <br /> Mr. Edgar expressed appreciation on behalf of the staff of the unanimous vote <br />of confidence by the City Council. <br /> <br /> Councilman Kinney stated that on March 23, 1974, there will be a parade and <br />other activities with the theme "Let the Good Times Roll", and urged City Council <br />support and participation of the event. He requested that the City Council pro- <br />claim March 23, 1974, as "Let the Good Times Roll Day in the City of Pleasanton". <br /> <br /> Councilman Reid stated he felt this endeavor of a pay-off bet between two disc <br />jockeys would not benefit the City and he would not support the event. <br /> <br /> Councilman Herlihy stated that with regard to his vote in opposition to the <br />Joint Exercise of Powers Agreement to implement the Valley-wide Water Management <br />Plan, he now supports the Joint Exercise of Powers Agreement for the Valley to <br />work for better improvement of Valley problems. <br /> <br />PUBLIC HEARINGS <br /> There were no Public Hearings scheduled for this meeting. <br /> <br />MATTERS CONTINUED FOR DECISION <br /> There were no matters continued for decision at this meeting. <br /> <br />SPECIAL REPORTS <br />Staff Review~ Re: Progress of 1973/74 Budget <br /> Mr. Edgar stated that this particular matter was initiated by the City Council <br />last year to provide opportunity to review the Budget at mid-year regarding status <br />of projects and finances, and to make whatever adjustments that are deemed necessary <br />in order to attain the goals and objectives as set forth in the document. <br /> <br /> Mr. Campbell presented a progress report on the goals and objectives of each <br />department as follows: <br /> <br />Field Services <br /> Mr. Campbell stated the creation and reorganization of this department had been <br />accomplished, and he spoke briefly regarding the status of each project. <br /> <br /> Councilman Reid requested a report regarding detailed tree replacement program <br />on Hopyard Road and Valley Avenue. <br /> <br /> Councilman Herlihy requested a report relative to permanent treatment in regard <br />to landscape and planning program in Street medians. <br /> <br /> Mro Campbell recommended approval for formal creation of a Mechanic position in <br /> the Department of Field Services, to be filled as soon as possible. <br /> <br /> It was moved by Councilman Mori, and seconded by Councilman Reid, formally <br />approving the creation of a Mechanic position in the Department of Field Services, <br />and authorizing the position to be filled immediately. <br />The roll call vote was as follows: <br />AYES: Councilmen Herlihy, Kinney, Mori, Reid, and Mayor Pearson <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENT: None <br /> <br /> Mayor Pearson recessed the meeting at 8:55 P.M. <br /> <br /> Mayor Pearson reconvened the meeting at 9:00 P.M. <br /> <br /> 2. 1/21/74 <br /> <br /> <br />
