MINUTES <br /> of ~----' <br /> THE MEETING <br /> of <br /> THE CITY COUNCIL <br /> <br /> November 25, 1974 <br /> <br />MAYOR'S REMARKS ON PLEASANTON FAMILY WEEK <br /> Mayor Mori stated that in this week which has been proclaimed as Pleasanton Family <br />Week, we should give thanks for our families along with all the other material and <br />social blessings we enjoy. He further stated that one Qf the great virtues of our <br />community is its orientation towards the family. <br /> <br />CALL TO ORDER - PLEDGE TO THE FLAG <br /> Mayor Floyd Mori called the Regular Meeting of the City Council to order at 8:00 <br />P.M., and then led the Pledge.Of Allegiance to the flag. <br /> <br />ROLL CALL <br /> Deputy City Clerk Doris George called the roll which is recorded as follows: <br />Councilmen Herlihy, Kinney, Councilwoman LeClaire, Councilman Philcox, and Mayor <br />Mori were present. Mr. Edgar, City Manager, Mr. Scheidig, City Attorney, Mr. <br />Bowling, Director of Housing and Community Development, Mr. Harris, Director of <br />Planning, and Mr. Sooby, Director of Engineering Services, were present. <br /> <br />CONSENT CALENDAR <br /> It was moved by Councilwoman LeClaire, and seconded by Councilman Philcox, that <br /> the following items listed on the Consent Calendar be approved: <br /> <br />a. Approval of 'City Council Minutes for November 11 and 18, 1974. <br /> <br />b. Proclaim week of November 24-December 1, 1974, as National Bible Week. <br /> <br /> c. Accept report of the Planning Commission, Re: Action Taken on Items at their <br /> meeting of November 13, 1974. <br /> <br />d. Adoption of Resolution No. 74-226, approving Progress Payment No. 3, to Munk- ~ <br /> date Bros., Inc., in the amount of $38,243.52, for work on Pleasanton Sports <br /> and Recreation Park, Phase I. <br /> <br /> The roll call vote was as follows: <br />AYES: Councilmen Herlihy, Kinney, Councilwoman LeClaire, Councilman Philcox, <br /> and Mayor Mori <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENT: None <br /> <br /> Councilman Kinney abstained from voting on Approval of City Council Minutes for <br /> November 11, 1974, due to his absence from the meeting. <br /> <br /> PUBLIC HEARINGS <br />Appeal of Ad-Art~ Inc.~ from an adverse decision of the Board of Adjustments for a <br />Variance request from Bank of America from the requirement's o~f" Section 2-9.43(a) <br />Articfe 1.8.~. Chap.~r 2~ ~.itle II of the O~'inance Co'd~of the city o'f P~easanton~~ <br />to allow the construction of a freestandin~ si=n on a parcel located in the C-N <br />(Commercial Neighborhood) District.~ which is less than 3ac. in size. The sub.j.ect <br />site is located on the South side of West Las Posita~. Blvd..apprgxi.mately 170 feet <br />west of Hopyard Road <br /> Mr. Edgar presented a letter from Ad-Art, Inc., requesting that this matter be <br /> continued to the next regularly scheduled meeting. <br /> <br /> Mayor Mori declared the public hearing open and this item continued to the <br /> meeting of December 9, 1974, 8:00 P.M., at the Pleaeanton JuStice Court. <br /> <br /> <br />
