It was moved by Councilwoman LeClaire, and seconded by Councilman Herlihy, that Resolution No. 74-223, commending Jon Frudden for his years of service to the community, be adopted. CITY COUNCIL COMMITTEE REPORTS Mayor Mori'reportedlon the Mayors' Conference of November 6, 1974, stating that he had been appointed to a Committee to re-examin~ the .Mayors' Gas Tax Formula and discuss this matter with the Board of Supervisors. MATTERS INITIATED BY COUNCIL MEMBERS Councilman Philcoxbrought to the attention of the Council an article in the Nation Cities Magazine regarding dumpS. Councilman Philcox urged the Council to do everything possible to get the Metropolitan Transportation Commission to make a favorable decision regarding the widening of 1-580. Councilwoman LeClaire suggested having Dr. Milt Fel~tein make a presentation on air quality at the hearing, Councilwoman LeClaire requested that Congressman Pete Starks be commend, ed for his efforts regarding the widening of 1-580. It was moved by Councilwoman LeClai~e, and seconded by CouncilSan H~rlihy~ that Resolution No. 74-224, in appreciation of Congressman Fortney "Pete" Starks efforts and dedication to the widening of 1-580, be adopted.
