MINUTES of THE MEETING of THE CITY COUNCIL October 30, 1974 PRESENTATION BY PT&T REGARDING 1974 TELEPHONE DIRECTORY COVER PICTURE Mr. Richard Piepenburg, representing PT&T, presented a large picture to the City Council of the Civic Center, which is on the front cover of the new telephone directory. Mayor Mori, on behalf of the City Council, accepted the picture and expressed appreciation for it. CALL TO ORDER - PLEDGE TO THE FLAG ~yor Floyd Mori called the Regular Meeting of the City Council to order at 8:00 P.M., and then led the Pledge of Allegiance to the flag. ROLL CALL Deputy City Clerk Doris George called the roll which is recorded as follows: Councilman Kinney, Councilwoman LeClaire, Councilman Philcox, and Mayor Mori were present. Councilman Herlihy was absent. Mr. Edgar, City Manager, Mr. Scheidig, City Attorney, Mr. Campbell, Assistant CityManager/Director of Public Works, Bowling, Director of Housing and Community Development, Mr. Harris, Director of Planning, Mr. Sooby, Director of Engineering Services, and Mr. Walker, Assistant to the City Manager, were present. AGENDA AMENDMENTS Mr. Edgar requested the following agenda amendments: 1. Add item to the Consent Calendar as 4i - Resolution Approving Procedure for Federal Aid Urban System Program in the Pleasanton Urban Area. 2. Add item to the Consent Calendar as 4j - Agreement with Newby Construction Company to furnish and install one mixer support tower at Sunol Sewage Treatment Plant. 3. Add item to Reports of the City Manager as 9c - Determination of Best Apparent Sewer Project and Request for Grant Funding. CONSENT CALENDAR It was moved by Councilman Philcox, and seconded by Councilwoman LeClaire, that the following items listed on the Consent Calendar be approved as amended, and the agenda approved as amended: a. Approval of City Council Minutes for October 14 and 18, 1974. b. Accept report of the Planning Commission regarding action taken on items at their meeting of October 15, 1974. c. Proclaim Week of November 17-23, 1974, as Mental Health Awareness Week. Approve contract between City and Chamber of Commerce regarding Christmas Decorations. e. Adoption of Ordinance No. 743, amending Sections 5-5.02, 5-5.03, and 5-5.04, of Article 1 (Prohibitions on Certain Streets), Chapter 5 (Commercial Vehicle Regulations), Titl~ V (Vehicles and Traffic, Streets and Highways) of the Ordinance Code of the City of Pleasanton relating to prohibition of commer- cial vehicles on certain streets. f.Acceptance of Grant Deed from Auf der Maur-Rickenbach, for future widening of Stanley Boulevard. g. Acceptance of three Grant Deeds from Donald A. Eschelbach; William E. Avilla, G. & L.L. Lesico; and Auf der Maur-Rickenbach, for construction of a water main and appurtenances in Stanley Boulevard.
