15? <br /> <br /> MINUTES <br /> of <br /> THE MEETING <br /> of <br /> THE CITY COUNCIL <br /> <br /> October 30, 1974 <br /> <br /> PRESENTATION BY PT&T REGARDING 1974 TELEPHONE DIRECTORY COVER PICTURE <br /> Mr. Richard Piepenburg, representing PT&T, presented a large picture to the <br /> City Council of the Civic Center, which is on the front cover of the new telephone <br /> directory. Mayor Mori, on behalf of the City Council, accepted the picture and <br /> expressed appreciation for it. <br /> <br /> CALL TO ORDER - PLEDGE TO THE FLAG <br /> ~yor Floyd Mori called the Regular Meeting of the City Council to order at <br /> 8:00 P.M., and then led the Pledge of Allegiance to the flag. <br /> <br /> ROLL CALL <br /> Deputy City Clerk Doris George called the roll which is recorded as follows: <br /> Councilman Kinney, Councilwoman LeClaire, Councilman Philcox, and Mayor Mori were <br /> present. Councilman Herlihy was absent. Mr. Edgar, City Manager, Mr. Scheidig, <br /> City Attorney, Mr. Campbell, Assistant CityManager/Director of Public Works, <br /> Bowling, Director of Housing and Community Development, Mr. Harris, Director of <br /> Planning, Mr. Sooby, Director of Engineering Services, and Mr. Walker, Assistant <br /> to the City Manager, were present. <br /> <br /> AGENDA AMENDMENTS <br /> Mr. Edgar requested the following agenda amendments: <br /> <br />1. Add item to the Consent Calendar as 4i - Resolution Approving Procedure for <br /> Federal Aid Urban System Program in the Pleasanton Urban Area. <br /> <br />2. Add item to the Consent Calendar as 4j - Agreement with Newby Construction <br /> Company to furnish and install one mixer support tower at Sunol Sewage <br /> Treatment Plant. <br /> <br />3. Add item to Reports of the City Manager as 9c - Determination of Best Apparent <br /> Sewer Project and Request for Grant Funding. <br /> <br />CONSENT CALENDAR <br /> It was moved by Councilman Philcox, and seconded by Councilwoman LeClaire, <br />that the following items listed on the Consent Calendar be approved as amended, <br />and the agenda approved as amended: <br /> <br />a. Approval of City Council Minutes for October 14 and 18, 1974. <br /> <br />b. Accept report of the Planning Commission regarding action taken on items at <br /> their meeting of October 15, 1974. <br /> <br />c. Proclaim Week of November 17-23, 1974, as Mental Health Awareness Week. <br /> <br /> Approve contract between City and Chamber of Commerce regarding Christmas <br /> Decorations. <br /> <br />e. Adoption of Ordinance No. 743, amending Sections 5-5.02, 5-5.03, and 5-5.04, <br /> of Article 1 (Prohibitions on Certain Streets), Chapter 5 (Commercial Vehicle <br /> Regulations), Titl~ V (Vehicles and Traffic, Streets and Highways) of the <br /> Ordinance Code of the City of Pleasanton relating to prohibition of commer- <br /> cial vehicles on certain streets. <br /> <br />f.Acceptance of Grant Deed from Auf der Maur-Rickenbach, for future widening <br /> of Stanley Boulevard. <br /> <br />g. Acceptance of three Grant Deeds from Donald A. Eschelbach; William E. Avilla, <br /> G. & L.L. Lesico; and Auf der Maur-Rickenbach, for construction of a water <br /> main and appurtenances in Stanley Boulevard. <br /> <br /> <br />
