<br /> Report, Re:~Proposed Ordinance for Regulation of Unsolicited Material at Residences
<br /> Mr~ Scheidig presented his report, dated August 20, 1974, regarding this matter,
<br /> stating that if the City Council desires to regulate the distribution of unsolicited
<br /> material at residences, it will be necessary for the council to consider the adop-
<br /> tion of an ordinance~
<br />
<br /> It was moved by Councilwoman LeClaire, and seconded by Councilman Philcox, that
<br /> Ordinance No. 739, to be read by title only and waiving further readi. ng thereof,
<br /> amending Article 8 (Litter), of Chapter 2 (Special Permits), Title IV (Health,
<br /> Safety, Moral and General Welfare), of the Ordinance Code of the City of Pleasanton,
<br /> relating to distribution of newspapers and handbills on private property, be intro-
<br /> duced~

<br /> Mrs Scheidig presented his report, dated August 20, 1974, regarding this matter,
<br />stating that it is necessary for the City Council to authorize execution of a modi-
<br />fication of annexation agreement to clarify an annexation agreement pertaining to
<br />park dedication.
<br />
<br /> It was moved by Councilman Kinney, and seconded by Councilwoman LeClaire,
<br />approving the execution of Modification of Agreement with Morris Stulsaft Testa-
<br />mentary Trust.
<br />The roll call vote was as follows:

<br />Report, Re.: Consideration of Legislation Prohibiting t~ .IRstallation of Rural
<br />CurbsideMailboxes
<br /> Mr. Scheidig presented his report, dated August 20, 1974, regarding this matter,
<br />stating that if the Council is interested in taking a position tothe establishment
<br />of rural curbside mailboxes, it may wish to consider support of HR-7720o
<br />
<br /> It was moved by Councilwoman LoCiairs, and seconded by Councilman Philcox, that
<br />Resolution No. 74-168, supporting the passage of HR-7720 prohibiting the United
<br />States Post Office Department from requiring the installation of mailboxes at the
<br />curb line of residential property where a locality has prohibited such installa-
<br />tion, be adopted.

<br />Report, Re: HR-1401.0~ R.id~elands National Park
<br /> Mr~ Scheidig presented his report, dated August 20, 1974, regarding this matter,
<br />stating that if the City Council wishes to take a position regarding the establish-
<br />ment of a ridgelands park system as proposed in HR-14010, this is the time to do so.
<br />
<br /> it was moved by Councilwoman LoCiairs, and seconded by Councilman Philcox, to
<br />support the Secretary of Interior to study the feasibility of establishing a
<br />National Park, recreation area or wilderness area in the Ridgelands East of San
<br />Francisco Bay, and instructed staff to direct a letter to the Congressional and
<br />Senatorial representatives in regard to this legislation and to the House Committee
<br />on Interior and Insular Affairs.
