Regarding the definition of "Peddlers, Solicitors, and Transient Merchants", <br />it was moved by Councilwoman LeClaire, and seconded by Councilman Philcox, that <br />Ordinance Noo 737, to be read by title only and waiving further reading thereof, <br />amending Article 1 (Solicitors and Certain Businesses), Chapter 2 (Special Per- <br />mits), Title IV (Health, Safety, Moral and General Welfare), of the Ordinance <br />Code of the City of Pleasanton, relating to definitions of Peddler, Solicitor, <br />and Transient Merchant, be introduced. <br />The roll call vote was as follows: <br />AYES: Councilman Kinney, Councilwoman LeClaire, Councilman Philcox, and <br /> Mayor Mori <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENT: Councilman Herlihy <br /> <br /> It was moved by Councilwoman LeClaire, and seconded by Councilman Philcox, <br />that Ordinance No, 738, to be read by title only and waiving further reading <br />thereof, amending Article 1 (Solicitors and Certain Businesses), Chapter 2 <br />(Special Permits), Title IV (Health, Safety, Moral and General Welfare) of the <br />Ordinance Code of the City of Pleasanton, relating to definitions of Peddler, <br />Solicitor, and Transient Merchant, be adopted as an urgency measure. <br />The roll call vote was as follows: <br />AYES: Councilman Kinney, Councilwoman LeClaire, Councilman Philcox, and <br /> Mayor Mori <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENT: Councilman Herlihy <br /> <br />Report~ Re: Proposed Ordinance for Regulation of Unrequested Material at <br />Residences <br /> Mayor Mori declared this item continued to the meeting of August 26, 1974. <br /> <br />Report~ Re.: Amendment to Annexation Agreement~ Re: Park Dedication <br /> Mayor Mori declared this item continued to the meeting of August 26, 1974. <br /> <br /> Mayor Mori recessed the meeting at 10:00 P.M. <br /> <br /> Mayor Mori reconvened the meeting at 10:05 P.M. <br /> <br />REPORTS OF THE CITY ATTORNEY (Contd.) <br />Legislation <br /> Mr. Scheidig presented his report dated August 12, 1974, regarding this <br />matter. <br /> <br /> After discussion, it was moved by Councilman Kinney, and seconded by CounCil- <br />man Philcox, to join in Amicus Curiae with the Attorney General regarding validity <br />of the 1974 Park Bond, Proposition 1. <br />The roll call vote was as follows: <br />AYES: Councilman Kinney, Councilwoman LeClaire, Councilman Philcox, and <br /> Mayor Mori <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENT: Councilman Herlihy <br /> <br />MEETING OPEN TO THE PUBLIC <br /> Mrs. Dee Phillips, 5559 San Juan Way, representing several residents from the <br />Mission Park area, addressed the Council regarding odor from the sewage treatment <br />'plant, and requested that steps be taken immediately to correct the situation. <br /> <br /> Mr. Campbell reviewed some of the problems that the City has had and what is <br />being done to alleviate the condition. <br /> <br /> Mr. Chuck Seymour, 492 San Gabriel Court, spoke regarding additional seyer <br />hook-ups and problems associated with odor, and requested City Council not to <br />allow further connections to the Plant until the odor problem is solved. <br /> <br /> Mayor Mori stated the Council and staff are doing everything in their power <br />to alleviate this problem in working with the Regional State and Federal agencies. <br />He requested Mr. Seymour to schedule a meeting between Mission Park homeowners <br />and City staff in an attempt to explain the entire sewer situation. <br /> <br /> 7. 8/12/74 <br /> <br /> <br />
