397 <br /> <br />PUBLIC HEARINGS <br />Adoption of City of Pleasanton 1975-76 Final Budget <br /> Mr. Edgar stated that the final Budget document had been transmitted to the <br />Council. He stated that the ~reltminary Budget had previously been adopted and <br />this final Budget reflected the minor revisions requested. <br /> <br /> Mr~ Walker reviewed the bookkeeping changes that were made in the final <br />Budget for 1975-76. <br /> <br /> Mayor Kinney declared the public hearing open. <br /> <br /> No one in the audience spoke in favor of or in opposition to this item. <br /> <br /> Mayor Kinney declared the public hearing closed. <br /> <br /> Mr. Scheidig explained the need for additional personnel in his Department. <br />Council indicated their intention to provide such additional personnel and auth- <br />orized the City Attorney to prepare, with the assistance of the personnel divi- <br />sion of the City Manager's office, a detailed report regarding Job classification, <br />salary, etc., for Council's review on June 9, 1975. However, it was Council's <br />intention to allow the City Attorney to fill this position by beginning the re- <br />cruitment process as soon after June 9, 1975, as possible. <br /> <br /> It was moved by Councilmember LcClaire, and seconded by Councilmember Philcox, <br />that Resolution No. 75-108, approving the Operating and Capital Improvement Budget <br />for Fiscal Year 1975-76, which includes provision of additional staff for the City <br />Attorney's Department and funding for same, be adopted. <br />The roll call vote was as follows: <br />AYES: Councilmembers Herlihy, LeClaire, McLain, Philcox, and Mayor Kinney <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENT: None <br /> <br />Request to remove 13 Heritage Trees at Koopman Prop. erty~ 148 Ray Street~ said <br />trees will be marked with red flagging <br /> Mr. Sooby presented the staff report dated May 21, 1975, regarding this item, <br />explaining the change in the number of trees to be removed. <br /> <br /> Mayor Kinney declared the public hearing open. <br /> <br /> Mr. Jack Bras, Architect representing the Koopman Property, stated his clients <br />are proposing a quarter million dollar commercial building on this property, and <br />were designing the building to preserve as many trees as possible at this location. <br />He stated that new trees would be planted where feasible. <br /> <br /> Mayor Kinney declared the public hearing closed. <br /> <br /> Councilmember Herlihy requested that decorative sidewalk be installed in the <br />area, if possible. Mr. Bras stated it would be done if money was available for <br />this additional expense. <br /> <br /> After discussion, it was moved by Councilmember McLain, and seconded by <br />Councilmember Herlihy, that Resolution No. 75-109, approving request for removal <br />of Heritage Trees as submitted in the report of the Director of Engineering <br />Services dated May 21, 1975, on the Koopman Property at 148 Ray Street, be <br />adopted. <br />The roll call vote was as follows: <br />AYES: Councilmembers Herlihy, LeClaire, McLain, Philcox, and Mayor Kinney <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENT: None <br /> <br />MATTERS CONTINUED FOR DECISION <br /> There were no matters continued for decision presented at this meeting.. <br /> <br /> 2. 5/27/75 <br /> <br /> <br />
