CITY COUNCIL COMMITTEE REPORTS Councilman McLain reported on the COVA meeting of May 8, 1975. He stated the report on Livermore Airport was postponed until it was presented to the Livermore City Council. Discussion ensued regarding matters ~f land use being considered by COVA. Council con- curred to send a lette~ t~ COVA reAte~ating Pleasanton's position statement regarding COVA. Mayor Kinney reported on ~heMayors' Confez'ence meeting of May 7, 1975, at which time they discussed curbside mail boxes, gas tax formula, and Summer Jobs for Youth sponsored by the National Alliance of Businessmen. Mayor Kinney stated the City of Pleasanton would not participate in NAB's program this year~ MATTERS INITIATED BY COUNCIL MEMBERS Councilman McLain requested a maintenance schedule and policy regarding median strips in the Fairlands Subdivision~ It was moved by Councilmember McLain, and seconded by Councilmember LeClaire, that Resolution No. 75-103, appointing Kenneth Scheidig, City Attorney, as "Consultant for World ~ffairs in Sacramento", be adopted~ The roll call vote was as £oliows: AYES: Councilmembers Herlihy, LeClaire, McLain, Philcox, and Mayor Kinney NOES: None ABSENT: None Council concurred to support SB-2220, a bill regarding dump site locations, and instructed the City Attorney to advise the appropriate legislators of this support. EXECUTIVE SESSION: Appointments Mayor Kinney recessed the meeting to an Executive Session at 10:50 P.M. Mayor Kinney reconvened the meeting at ]0:55 P.M. It was moved by Councilmember Herlihy, and seconded by Councilmember Philcox, that Resolution No~ 75-104, appointing David C. Shepherd as a member of the Planning Com- mission, to fill the unexpired term of Roger McLain, said term to expire May 5, 1978, be adopted.
