REPORTS OF THE CITY ATTORNEY Report~ Re: SB-275 Mr, Scheidig presented the staff report dated April 7, 1975, regarding this matter. Council went on record in opposition to SB-275, and instructed the City Attorney to communicate with the appropriate Legislators. Legislation Mr~ Scheidig advised the Council that the letters prepared regarding AB-700, AB-416, AB-681, and SB-189 would be sent out as drafted unless there was Council opposition. There was none. Mr, Scheidig presented Council with a copy of the agenda for Thursday's Legis- lative meeting in Sacramento. Councilmembers Kinney, LeClaire and McLain indicated they would attend. Mr. Scheidig inquired as to which members of Council would attend the Attorney General's Land Use Conference in San Francisco on May 12 and 13. Councilmember LeClaire indicated she would attend. COMMUNICATIONS There were no Communications presented at this'meeting. CITY COUNCIL COMMITTEE REPORTS Councilman Herlihy stated that he and Councilman McLain artended the COVA meeting on April 10, 1975, and reported good progress of this Agency. Councilwoman LeClaire presented a progress report of the Bicentennial Committee. Mayor Kinney reported on the Mayors' Conference of April 2, 1975. MATTERS INITIATED BY COUNCIL MEMBERS It was moved by Councilwoman LeClaire, and seconded by Councilman Herlihy, that Resolution No. 75-84, supporting ABAG Planning Committee's report regarding the proposed Las Positas New Town, be adopted. The roll call vote was as follows: AYES: Councilmembers Herlihy, LeClaire, McLain, Philcox, and Mayor Kinney NOES: None ABSENT: None Councilman Herlihy requested staff to obtain a copy of Energy Use Standard for Housing Element prepared by the City of Davis Planning Department. Councilman Herlihy asked if staff could discuss with School District the possible cooperative use of warehouses at Camp Parks and vehicle maintenance. Mayor Kinney referred to an article in the Independent concerning Livermore's position regarding a hospital in Pleasanton, and desired further information on Livermore's position. EXECUTIVE SESSION: Pending Litigation Mayor Kinney recessed the meeting to an Executive Session at 12:25 A.M. Mayor Kinney reconvened the meeting at 12:30 A.M. It was moved by Councilwoman LeClaire, and seconded by Councilman Herlihy, authorizing the City Attorney to defend the City in suit filed by Dr. Howard Long.
