MINUTES of THE MEETING of THE CITY COUNCIL February 10, 1975 CALL TO ORDER - PLEDGE TO THE FLAG Mayor Floyd Mori called the Regular Meeting of the City Council to order at 8:00 P~M., and then led the Pledge of Allegiance to the flag. ROLL CALL Deputy City Clerk Doris George called the roll which is recorded as follows: Councilmen Herlihy, Kinney, Councilwoman LeClaire, Councilman Philcox, and Mayor Mori were present. Mr. Scheidig, City Attorney, Mr. Campbell, Assistant City Manager/Director of Public Works, Mr. Bowling, Director of Housing and Community Development, and Mr. Walker, Assistant to the City Manager, were present. AGENDA AMENdmENTS Councilman Herlihy requested to speak after the Consent Calendar. CONSENT CALENDAR It was moved by Councilman Kinney, and seconded by Councilman Philcox, that the following items listed on the Consent Calendar be approved: a. Approval of City Council Minutes for January 27, 1975. b. Proclaim February as Scout Month in Pleasanton. c. Authorize execution of Quitclaim Deed eliminating temporary easement for construction purposes on Tenaco Property. d. Adoption of Resolution No. 75-25, approval for authorization to execute Public Service Employment Constract with Alameda County. The roll call vote was as follows: AYES: Councilmen Herlihy, Kinney, Councilwoman LeClaire, Councilman Philcox, and Mayor Mori NOES: None ' ABSENT: None CONGRATULATIONS TO MAYOR MORI It was moved by Councilman Herlihy, and seconded by aouncilwoman LeClaire, congratulating Mayor Mori on his successful election in the Assemblyman race on February 4, 1975, and pledging full support for the run-off in March. The roll call vote was as follows: AYES: Councilmen Herlihy, Kinney, Councilwoman LeClaire, and Councilman Philcox NOES: None ABSENT: None PUBLIC HEARINGS Appeal of Pettibone Signs for .Valley Realty from an adverse decision of the Board of Adjustments in deny~in.g application fOr a. variance from the require- ments of Section 2-9.43(a).., ~l. ticle 18~ Chapter 2~. Title II of the Ordinance C.0~e of the City of Pleasanton~ to allow the installation of a freestanding sign on a C-N (Neighborhood Commercial) zoned parcel less than 3 acres in size. Said parcel is locate~. on t.~.e north side of. Valley Avenue approximately 250 feet west of santa Rita Road Mayor Mori declared the public hearing open on this item and continued to the meeting of February 24, 1975, 8:00 P.M., Pleasanton Justice Court. Appeal of Richard Burge .~rom ~ decision of the Des.ign Review Board not to allow logo for the 7-11 Food Store to be loca't'ed at 3760 Hopyard Road; zoning for the property being C-N (Commercial Neighborhood) District Mayor Mori declared this item withdrawn from the agenda for correction of address.
