Angela Street, spoke on behalf of his parents and the <br /> other residents of Vervais Avenue, expressing his concern regarding traffic <br /> problems on this narrow road if added traffic is allowed thus creating a <br /> dangerous situation. <br /> <br /> Mr. Hirst presented pictures to support reasons for approving the appeal of <br /> Arrow Rentals. <br /> <br /> -Mayor Mori declared the public hearing closed. <br /> <br /> Councilwoman LeClaire reiterated her concern regarding this Commercial <br /> Zoning and the problems associated thereto. She suggested a compromise of <br /> allowing ingress on Stanley Boulevard and egress from Vervais Avenue. <br /> <br /> Councilman Philcox stated he had driven in and out of the proposed Arrow <br /> Rentals site at various times and felt that the traffic problem was no more <br /> serious than with other narrow streets in town. He concurred with Councilwoman <br /> LeClatre regarding entrance on Stanley Boulevard and exit on Vervais Avenue as <br /> a favorable solution. <br /> <br /> Council, ran Nerlihy expressed concern regarding street maintenance and costs <br /> incurred. <br /> <br /> Councilman Kinney stated that Vervats Avenue should be made as safe as <br /> possible, and that he supported granting the appeal of Arrow Rentals. He <br /> concurred with other Council members to allow ingress on Stanley Boulevard <br /> and egress from Vervais Avenue. He further stated he felt the Commercial <br /> Zoning in this area was in good taste. <br /> <br /> Mayor Mori expressed concern for traffic safety and stated the City should <br /> maintain the street for min]mml potential danger and future problems. <br /> <br /> Discussion ensued regarding size of trucks used by Arrow Rentals, and <br /> no-parking on Vervais Avenue. <br /> <br /> It was moved by Councilwoman LeClaire, and seconded by Councilman Kinney, <br /> that Resolution No. 75-8, granting the appeal of Arrow Rentals from one of the <br /> conditions ~Condition No. 1 of Resolution R-74-32) attached to the approval by <br /> the Design Review Board, of the proposed new site of Arrow Rentals to be located <br /> at 4262 Stanley Boulevard, with the following two conditions: (1) traffic cir- <br /> culation through the development be one way, entering on Stanley Boulevard and <br /> exiting on Vervais Avenue; and (2) that there be a limitation of the truck <br /> size used by Arrow Rentals, be adopted. <br /> The roll call vote was as follows: <br /> AYES: Councilman Kinney, Councilwoman LeClaire, Councilman Philcox, and <br /> Mayor Mori <br /> NOES: Councilman Herlihy <br /> ABSENT: None <br /> <br /> It was moved by Councilman Philcox, and seconded by Councilman Kinney, that <br /> Resolution No. 75-9, amending Traffic Resolution No. 70-26, prohibiting parking <br /> on the north side of Vervais Avenue to the eastern border of Arrow Rentals <br /> property and one the south side along the Corporation Yard, be adopted. <br /> The roll call vote was as follows: <br /> AYES: Councilman Kinney, Councilwoman LeClaire, Counci]m~n Philcox, and <br /> Mayor Mori <br /> NOES: Councilman Herlihy <br /> ABSENT: None <br /> <br /> 4. 1/13/75 <br /> <br /> <br />
