275 <br /> <br />Matters for the Information of the Council <br /> Mr. Edgar presented a memorandum of the Assistant City Manager dated December <br /> 22,1975, informing Council of the certification of Wilbur Angle, Jr., Maintenance <br />Man II, as Grade III, Collection SystemMaintenanceo Staff was instructed to write <br /> a letter of commendation to Mr. Angle for the Mayor's signature. <br /> <br /> Mr. Edgar presented an informal report on the fire tragedy at 3540 Chipendale <br />Court. <br /> <br />REPORTS OF THE CITY ATTORNEY <br />Denial of Claim - Lyle L. Herlitz <br /> <br />Denial of Claim - William S. Kwaiser <br /> Mr. Scheidig presented his reports dated December 23 and December 24, 1975, <br />regarding these items. <br /> <br /> It was moved by Councilmember Philcox, and seconded by Councilmember LeClaire, <br />that the filing of a late claim of Lyle L. Herlitz be allowed, and the claims of <br />Lyle L. Herlitz and William S. Kwaiser be denied and referred to the City Attorney's <br />office for handling and defense. <br />The roll call vote was as follows: <br />AYES: Councilmembers LeClaire, McLain, Philcox, and Mayor Pro Tom Herlihy <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENT: Mayor Kinney <br /> <br />COMMUNICATIONS <br /> There were no Communications presented at this meeting. <br /> <br />CITY COUNCIL COMMITTEE REPORTS <br /> Councilmembers presented various Committee reports for the information of the <br />Council. <br /> <br />MATTERS INITIATED BY COUNCIL MEMBERS <br /> Councilmember Philcox requested a report on the Horizons Program. <br /> <br /> Mayor Pro Tom Herlihy requested a report from the Bicentennial Committee in <br />response to the memorandum of the Assistant City Manager dated December 30, 1975, <br />regarding the Bicentennial Band~ and City assistance. Council concurred. <br /> <br />MEETING OPEN TO THE PUBLIC <br /> No one in the audience addressed the Chair. <br /> <br />CITY COUNCIL CALENDAR <br /> Mr. Edgar presented the Calendar for the Council's information. <br /> <br />EXECUTIVE SESSION: Pendin~ Litigation <br /> Mayor Pro Tom Herlihy recessed the meeting to an Executive Session at 5:25 P.M., <br />to discuss pending litigation relating to the Schlies versus City suit. <br /> <br /> Mayor Pro Tom Herlihy reconvened the meeting at 6:10 P.M. <br /> <br />ADJOURNMENT <br /> There being no further business at 6:15 P,M., it was moved by Councilmember <br />LeClaire, and seconded by Councilmember McLain, that the meeting be adjourned to <br />meet again in Regular Session at 8:00 P.M~, on January 12, 1976. <br />The roll call vote was as follows: <br />AYES: Councilmembers LeClaire, McLain, Philcox, and Mayor Pro Tom Herlihy <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENT: Mayor Kinney <br /> <br />Respectfully Submitted, <br /> <br />WILLIAM H.
