Approval of Plans and Specifications; Authorization to go to Bid; Re: I~nprovement of Hansen Park Mr. Sooby presented hi~ report on this matter, explaining that this project is being financed with Proposition 1 funds. After discussion, it was moved by Councilmember Philcox and seconded by Councilmember Herlihy, that Resolution No. 75-24~., authorizing the staff to call for bids for Hansen Park Tot Lot and Picnic Area, be adopted. The roll call vote was as follows: AYES: Councilmembers Herlihy, LeClaire, McLain, Philcox, and Mayor Kinney NOES: None ABSENT: None Report, Re: Award of Bids for certain replacement vehicles Mr. Edgar presented his report on this' ~atter. After discussion, it was moved by Councilmember Herlihy, and seconded by Councilmember McLain, that Resolution No. 75-25Q, authorizing the purchase of 8 vehicles as per recommendations in the staff report dated November 18, 1975, be adopted. Edgar presented Mr. Campbell's report on this matter. It is the intention to inventory all gevernment buildings, set forth a schedule and report back in a six month period, with a determination of the best way to supervise the maintenance of the City 's government buildings. The Maintenance Man-Carpenter would spend his full time in this project during this six month period. Minor carpenter work will still be ac- complished, but major projects will not be carried during this time. It was moved by Councilmember McLain, and seconded by Council- member LeClaire, that Resolution No. 75-252, authorizing the upgrading of the position of Maintenance Man-Carpenter to include the responsi- bilities outlined in the staff report prepared on this matter, be adopted. The roll call vote was as follows: AYES: Councilmembers Herlihy, LeClaire, McLain, Philcox and Mayor Kinney NOES: None ABSENT: None Matters for the Information of the Council Mr. Edgar announced that the m~Sel of the new line of BART com- muter buses will be located in the Civic Center parking lot for viewing from 2 to 3 o'clock Wednesday afternoon. Mr. Edgar also stated that a report regarding the History and Background of the Alameda County Fairgrounds, prepared by the County, has been submitted for the Council's information. REPORTS OF THE CITY ATTORNEY RepOrt, Re: Claims relating' to Grafco Service Station, 707 Main Street Mr. Scheidig presented his report regarding this matter and re- commended that claims for damages pertaining to this matter be denied. = 7. 11-24-75
