181 <br /> <br /> MATTERS CONTINUED FOR DECISION <br /> There were no matters continued for decision scheduled for this meeting. <br /> <br /> SPECIAL REPORTS <br /> There were no Special Reports scheduled for this meeting. <br /> <br /> REPORTS OF BOARDS AND COMMISSIONS <br /> RepoI.t~ Re.: Resolution of the Park and Recreation Commission commending Jaycees <br /> Mro Caporusso presented his report dated October 10, 1975, regarding this matter, <br /> which was for the information of the CouncilQ <br /> <br /> Mr~ Pat Geary, President of the Pleasanton Jaycees, and several members were <br /> present in the audtence~ <br /> <br /> Mayor Kinney, on behalf of the City Council and community, commended the <br /> Jaycees for their outstanding service and generous contributions to the City. <br /> <br /> Report~ Re: Tennis Court M~nit9~~ Amador High School <br /> Mr. Caporusso presented his report dated October 2, 1975, regarding this <br /> matter~ stating that the Park and Recreation Commission recommends the follow- <br /> ing be implemented into the tennis monitor program at the Amador High School <br /> Tennis Courts: <br /> <br /> lo To start the monitor program in April and continue it through the <br /> last weekend of September. <br /> 2. To extend the monitor program to include weekdays, Monday through <br /> Friday from 5:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. <br /> 3o To increase the court fee to 50¢ per hour per court for adults, <br /> and charge a 25¢ fee for junior players, 18 years and younger. <br /> 4. To extend the one hour playing time to one hour and fifteen <br /> minutes. <br /> 5~ To allow participants an opportunity to reserve a tennis court <br />__ in advance (Courts 1 and 2, and 8 and 9). <br /> 6o To post a sign that would inform participants about the monitor <br /> program. <br /> <br /> It was moved by Councilmember LeClaire, and seconded by Councilmember McLain, <br /> that Resolution No. 75-220, approving the recommendations of the Park and Recrea- <br /> tion Commission regarding the Tennis Court Monitor Program at Amador High School <br /> Courts, and amending the fees and charges resolution related thereto, be adopted. <br /> The 2oll call vote was as follows: <br /> AYES: Councilmembers Herlihy, LeClaire, McLain, Philcox, and Mayor Kinney <br /> NOES: None <br /> ABSENT: None <br /> <br /> Repozt of the Housing Authority~ Re: Goals and Objectives <br /> Mr, Bowling presented his report dated October 7, 1975, regarding this matter <br /> for the information of the Council° He stated there was no time frame on these <br /> projects due to the nature of the programs. <br /> <br /> Report of the Park and Recreation Department and the Director of Engineering <br /> Services~ Re: Deep Water Pool <br /> Mr, Sooby presented his report dated October 7, 1975, and the report of the <br /> Recreation Superintendent dated October 8, 1975, regarding this matter. <br /> <br /> Council discussion ensued regarding possible alternatives in order to build <br /> a larger pool or modify the existing pool at the Recreation Center. <br /> <br /> Mr. Ken Mercer, Park and Recreation Cormnissioner, explained the Park and <br /> Recreation Commission report regarding the size of the pool, stating that a <br /> 40'x40v pooi would accommodate a majority of programs requiring deep water. <br /> <br /> Ms~ Bengston, Director of the Swim Program, stated that a 40'x40' pool would <br /> not be acceptable for competitive swimming or water polo, but was adequate for <br /> instruction, and that other limitations could be accommodated by using the <br /> existing poolo <br /> <br /> 3. 10/13/75 <br /> <br /> <br />
