Mayor Kinney declared the public hearing open. <br /> <br /> The following persons spoke in favor of the appeal: <br /> <br /> Harry Elliott, Jr., 47 Quail Court, Walnut Creek <br /> Lloyd M. Haines, Attorney, P. Oo Box 222, Livermore <br /> Richard C. Deglman, 1420 Saybrook Road, Livermore <br /> <br /> The following persons spoke in opposition to granting the appeal: <br /> <br /> Bob Kroetch, 818 Sylvaner Drive, Pleasanton <br /> Rich Rollins, 830 S~vaner Drive, Pleasanton <br /> <br /> Mr. Kroetch presented a petition signed by the eight residents on Sylvaner <br />Drive, objecting to granting the variance. <br /> <br /> Mayor Kinney declared the public hearing closed, <br /> <br /> Mr. Dobbins stated that Lot 51 on Catawba Court would be corrected to meet <br />City Codes since no concrete had been poured for the foundation. <br /> <br /> After discussion, it was moved by Councilmember Herlihy, and seconded by <br />Councilmember Philcox, that Resolution No. 75-177, granting the appeal of Lloyd <br />M. Haines on behalf of H. C. Elliott, Inc., of the Board of Adjustment decision <br />to deny application for a variance to Section 2-5.35, Article 3, Chapter 2, Title <br />II of the Ordinance Code of the City of Pleasanton, to allow construction of <br />residences located on Lots 15 on Aramon Court, 29 on Sylvaner Drive, 43 and 44 <br />on Catawba Court, and 67 and 69 on Pomice Court; all located within Tract 3328, <br />which would enoch into the required front yards of the respective properties, <br />zoning for the'properties is R-1-6500 (Medium Density Residential) District, be <br />adopted. <br />The roll call vote was as follows: <br />AYES: Councilmembers Herlihy, LeClaire, McLain, Philcox, and Mayor Kinney <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENT: None <br /> <br /> Councilmember McLain invited homeowners in Tract 3328 to meet with himself <br />and Harry Elliott to discuss various problems experienced by the residents of <br />this Tract. <br /> <br />City Council consideration of .a reqpest b~ Pleasanton Garbage Service for a <br />.~ate Incraase (Cont. inued Open from 8-18-75) <br /> Mr. Miller presented the staff report dated August 20, 1975, regarding this <br />matter. <br /> <br /> Mayor Kinney stated that the public hearing regarding this item was opened <br />at the meeting of August 18, 1975. <br /> <br /> The following persons spoke in favor of the application: <br /> <br /> William Hirst, Attorney, 147 Bernal Avenue, Pleasanton <br /> Ben Fernandez, President, Chamber of Commerce <br /> Bernard Gerton, 628 St. Mary Street, Pleasanton <br /> <br /> The following persons spoke in opposition to the application: <br /> <br /> Jim Jordan, 7218 Stonedale Drive, Pleasanton <br /> Francis Headley, 1640 Orchard, Pleasanton <br /> John Fraga, 1486 Kolln Street, Pleasanton <br /> Ronald Resare, 5539 San Juan Way, Pleasanton <br /> <br /> Mayor Kinney declared the public hearing closed. <br /> <br /> Councilmember Herlihy suggested that the minimum dumping rate be increased <br />to $1~00, the per cubic yard rate be increased to $2.00, and the excess revenue <br />placed in a reserve account to be applied against the next rate increase. <br /> <br /> 2. 8/25/75 <br /> <br /> <br />
