Councilmember LeClaire stated she agreed with the Ctty Manager's recommen- <br />dation of salary increases for management personnel of 705%, as management <br />salaries were below other comparable cities while rank and file employees were <br />average or above other comparable cities, and she felt it was unfair to manage- <br />ment personnel not to receive higher salaries° <br /> <br />Matters for the Information of the Council <br /> Mr. Edgar presented the memorandum of the Director of Field Services dated <br />June 4, 1976, regarding certification of Frank Line, Steve Law, Mike King, and <br />Jim Wilbur. <br /> <br /> Mro Edgar presented the memorandum of the Director of Planning dated June 7, <br />1976, regarding Permit Fees~ This matter will be reviewed by the Planning Com- <br />mission° <br /> <br />REPORTS OF THE CITY ATTORNEY <br /> Mr. Scheidig stated that he had a response from the Attorney General's office <br />regarding the validity of William Thompson's seat on the Housing Authority Board, <br />requesting the City Attorney's opinion and the Housing Authority Board's attorney's <br />opinion on this matter° <br /> <br />COMMUNICATIONS <br /> There were no Communications presented at this meeting. <br /> <br />CITY COUNCIL COMMITTEE REPORTS <br /> Councilmembers presented various Connuittee Reports for the information of the <br />Council. <br /> <br /> Councilmember Mercer stated that with regard to COVA, he would withdraw his <br />motion not to support this organization as he felt it deserved another opportunity <br />to serve the Valley in areas outlined at the last meeting. <br /> <br />MATTERS INITIATED BY COUNCIL MEMBERS <br /> Mayor Philcox requested Councilmembers Mercer and Herlihy to review a Sculpture <br />to be donated to the City, and an appropriate site to place it, and report back to <br />City Council° <br /> <br /> Councilmember Herlihy requested that the Auf der Maur annexation on Stanley <br />Boulevard be placed on the agenda as soon as feasible as further delay would <br />discourage potential development of this property. <br /> <br /> Councilmember LeClaire requested that a traffic report be made at the inter- <br />section of Woodthrush and Crestline due to a'report of a number of accidents that <br />have occurred there~ <br /> <br /> Councilmember Brandes requested that Council action be taken with regard to <br />intent of placing the West Lee Positas Overcrossing on the November or March <br />Ballot end intent to initiate law suit against the State of California for their <br />commitment made to the City in 1971 on this matter° <br /> <br /> After disc~ssioln, Council requested the City Attorney's office to investigate <br />the feasibility of initiating proceedings against the State, the cost of such a <br />suit',, and whether other suits had ever been filed against the State on Freeway <br />Agreemettso <br /> <br /> Cou~i'!i~ als~ requested a list of projects, costs, and priorities to be <br />considered f.or Bond issue Measures~ <br /> <br />CITY COUNCIL CALENDAR <br /> Mr. Edgar presented the Calendar for the Council's information. <br /> <br />EXECUTIVE SESSION: Pendin~ Litigation <br /> Mayor Philcox recessed the meeting to an Executive Session at 11:45 P ~M., <br />to discuss the status of the suit of Schlies, etal, vs. City of Pleasanton <br />and the potential of a law suit 'resulting £rom the ~allon House fire° <br /> <br /> Mayor Philcox reconvened the meeting at 12:10 AoM. <br /> <br /> 6/14/76 <br /> <br /> <br />
