35:1 <br /> <br /> COMMUNICATIONS <br /> There were no Communications presented at this meeting. <br /> <br /> CITY COUNCIL COMMITTEE REPORTS <br /> Mayor Philcox presented his report dated March 15, 1976, designating Council- <br />members to various committee assignments. <br /> <br />MATTERS INITIATED BY COUNC1L MEMBERS <br /> Councilmember Mercer questioned the Heritage Tree Ordinance as it relates to <br />the removal of dead or diseased trees and City Council or staff authority to <br />permit removal of such trees. <br /> <br /> It was moved by Councilmember Mercer, and seconded by Councilmember LeClaire, <br />that Resolution No. 76-66, initiating an amendment to the Heritage Tree Ordinance <br />provisions of the Ordinance Code and directing the City Attorney to prepare said <br />amendments and submit them to the City Council at the soonest possible time, be <br />adopted. <br />The roll call vote was as follows: <br />AYES: Councilmembers Brandes, Herlihy, LeClaire, Mercer, and Mayor Philcox <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENT: None <br /> <br /> Councilmember Mercer requested that item 14 on the agenda - Meeting Open to <br />the Public - be moved to be heard after item 4 - Consent Calendar. Council con- <br />curred that this be done on an experimental basis for the next few meetings. <br /> <br /> Councilmember Mercer requested that the possibility of having one Special <br />City Council meeting per month at vaTious locations throughout the City be <br />investigated. Council concurred and instructed the City Attorney to prepare <br />a report for City Council review at the meeting of March 22, 1976, regarding <br />this matter. <br /> <br /> Councilmember Mercer requested a report from the City Attorney regarding <br />Park Dedication Fees and the possibility of taking money instead of land in <br />order to develop parks already in existence, especially the Youth Sports Park. <br /> <br /> Councilmember Brandes requested an appeal on item V-76-4 of the Board of <br />Adjustment agenda of March 10, 1976, application of Henry Gomez for variance <br />allow construction of a room addition at 1815 Brooktree Way, be schedule for <br />public hearing on April 12, 1976, 8:00 P.M., Pleasanton Council Chambers, 30 <br />West Angels Street. <br /> <br /> Councilmember Brandes requested that in the report of the Planning Commis- <br />sion regarding action taken on items at their meetings include attendance and <br />vote. <br /> <br /> Councilmember Herlihy etated that Representative Stark would be in Pleasan- <br />ton Saturday, March 20, 1976, to visit the Kottinger Barn site, and Council- <br />members are invited to attend this tour. <br /> <br />CITY COUNCIL CALENDAR <br /> Mr. Edgar presented the Calendar for the Council's information. <br /> <br />EXECUTIVE SESSION <br /> Mayor Philcox recessed the meeting to an Executive Session at 11:30 P.M. <br />to discuss pending litigation. <br /> <br /> Mayor Philcox reconvened the meeting at 12:15 A.M. <br /> <br />ADJOUR~4ENT <br /> There being no further business at 12:20 A.M., it was moved by Councilmember <br />Herlihy, and seconded by Councilmember Brandes, that the meeting be adjourned to <br />meet again in Regular Session at 8:00 P.M., ohM arch 22, 1976. <br /> <br /> 6. 3/15/76 <br /> <br /> <br />
