287 <br /> <br />MATTERS INITIATED BY COUNCIL MEMBERS <br /> Councilmember Herlihy expressed concern regarding the poor postal service <br />that citizens in Pleasanton have been receiving° After discussion, Council con- <br />curred that Councilmember Herlihy should meet with the Postmaster to discuss <br />this problem and possible solutions. <br /> <br /> Councilmember Herlihy stated he had been in touch with Representative Pete <br />Stark's office in Washington, D.C., regarding possible grant for the restoration <br />of Kottinger Barn~ He added Representative Stark had tentatively scheduled a <br />tour of the Barn on January 16th, and Council members were invited to accompany <br />the tour. <br /> <br /> Councilmember McLain asked if bicycle trails were proposed on Foothill Road <br />as he was concerned regarding the safety of persons riding bicycles on this Road. <br />He was informed that road improvements would first have to be completed before <br />bicycle trails could be considered. Council requested an update on bicycle <br />trails in and around the City and the status of the money which has been appro- <br />priated for this purpose, for review on February 9, 1976. <br /> <br />CITY COUNCIL CALENDAR <br /> Mr. Edgar presented the Calendar for the Council~s information. <br /> <br />EXECUTIVE SESSION: Pending Litigation and Appointments <br /> Mayor Kinney recessed the meeting to an Executive Session at 10:55 P.M., <br />to discuss pending litigation and various appointments. <br /> <br /> Mayor Kinney reconvened the meeting at 11:45 P.M. <br /> <br />ADJOURNMENT <br /> There being no further business at 11:50 P.M., it was moved by Councilmember <br />Herlihy, and seconded by Councilmember McLain, that the meeting to adjourned to <br />meet again in Adjourned Regular Session at 8:00 P.M., on January 19, 1976. <br />The roll call vote was as follows: <br />AYES: Councilmembers Herlihy, McLain, Philcox, and Mayor Kinney <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENT: Councilmember LeClaire <br /> <br />Respectfully Submitted, <br /> <br />WILLIAM H.
