MINUTES of THE MEETING of THE CITY COUNCIL January 12, 1976 CALL TO ORDER - PLEDGE TO THE FLAG Mayor Edward Kinney called the Regular Meeting of the City Council to order at 8:00 P.M0, and then led the Pledge of Allegiance to the flag. ROLL CALL Deputy City Clerk Doris George called the roll which is recorded as follows: Councilmembers Herlihy, McLain, Philcox, and Mayor Kinney were present. Council- member LeClatre was absent. Mr. Edgar, City Manager, Mr. Levine, Deputy City Attorney, Mr. Campbell, Assistant CityManager/Director of Public Works, Mr. Harris, Director of Planning, Mr. Sooby, Director of Engineering Services, Mr. Miller, Assistant to the City Manager, Mr. McCloud, Acting Director of Public Safety, and Mr. Cherry, Fire Division Administration, were present. AGENDA AMENDMENTS There were no agenda amendments presented at this meeting. CONSENT CALENDAR It was moved by Councilmember McLain, and seconded by Councilmember Herlthy, that the following items listed on the Consent Calendar be approved: a. Approval of City Council Minutes for December 15 and 30, 1975. b. Adoption of Resolution No. 76-1, approv~ng Agreement between City and Traffic Signal Maintenance Co., Inc., for maintenance of traffic signals. c. Adoption of Resolution No. 76-2, approving authorization to apply for ACAP Grant for Summer Youth Program. d. Adoption of Resolution No. 76-3, approving authorization to apply for ACAP Grant.for On-going Recreation Programs. e. Adoption of Resolution No. 76-4, approving Training Agreement No. 185 between City and State of California Department of Highway Patrol. f. Adoption of Resolution No. 76-5, approving amendment to Comprehensive Employ- ment and Training Act (CETA) Contract with Alameda County. The roll call vote was as follows: AYES: Councilmembers Berlihy, McLain, Philcox, and Mayor Kinney NOES: None ABSENT: Councilmember LeClaire Mayor Kinney abstained from voting on the Minutes of December 30, 1975, due to his absence at said meeting. Mayor Kinney declared the public hearing open. Chris Beratlis, 425 Main Street, spoke in favor of removal of the Heritage Tree.
