<br />CALL TO ORDER- PLEDGE TO THE FLAG
<br /> Mayor Robert Philcox called the Regular Meeting of the City Council to
<br />order at 8:00 P.~., and then led the Pledge of Allegiance to the flag.
<br />
<br />ROLL CALL
<br /> Deputy City Clerk Doris George called the roll which is recorded as
<br />follows: Councilmembers Brandes, Herlihy, LeClaire, Mercer, and Mayor
<br />Philcox were present. Mr. Edgar, City Manager, Mr. Levine, Deputy City
<br />Attorney, Mr. Campbell, Assistant City Manager/Director of Public Works,
<br />Mr. Harris, Director of Planning, Mr. Walker, Assistant to the City Manager,
<br />and Mr. Sooby, Director of Engineering Services, were present.
<br />
<br />AGENDAAMENDMENTS
<br /> Mr. Edgar requested that an item be ~dded to the Consent Calendar as
<br />item 4k - Proclaim October 15, 1976, as U. S. Marine Band Day in Pleasanton,
<br />and approval to hang a banner on the PleasantonMain Street Sign advertising
<br />the Marine Band Concerts.
<br />
<br /> Mr. Edgar requested that item 10e - A Request from Lee Amaral for City
<br />to annex 5 acres on Vineyard Avenue, be continued to the meeting of 10-26-76,
<br />at the request of Mr. Amaral.
<br />
<br /> Mayor Philcox requested that item 7a - Adoption of Ordinance No. 797,
<br />amending Section 2-7.08(a), Article 8, Chapter 2, Title II of the Ordinance
<br />Code of the City of Pleasanton to allow "automobile washing, including use
<br />of mechanical conveyors, blowers and steam cleaners" as a conditional use
<br />in the C-C (Central Commercial) District (Introduced on 9-27-76 by a 3-2 vote),
<br />be continued to the meeting of 10-26-76. Council concurred.

<br /> Councilmember LeClaire requested that the Contract with Cooperative
<br />Personnel Services be amended in the Fair Employment Practices Addendum to
<br />add the word "sex" in the sentence "no discrimination against employee or
<br />applicant because of race, color, etc.."
<br />
<br /> Councilmember Herlihy questioned the Warrants to Kennedy Engineers, and
<br />requested a detailed breakdown of the work being performed by Kennedy for
<br />the City.
<br />
<br />CONSENT CALENDAR
<br /> It was moved by Councilmember Brandes, and seconded by Councilmember
<br />Mercer, that the following items listed on the Consent Calendar be approved,
<br />as amended:
<br />
<br />a. Approval of City Council Minutes for September 27 and October 4, 1976.
<br />
<br />b. Adoption of Ordinance No. 794, rezoning approximately 4.3 acres of land
<br /> located on the South Side of Paseo Santa Cruz immediately West of Valley
<br /> Avenue from RM-4000 (Multi-Family Residential) District and R-1-6500
<br /> (One-Family Residential) District to P (Public and Institutional) Dis-
<br /> trict and R-1-6500 (One-Family Residential) District, and amending the
<br /> Zoning Map of the City of Pleasanton accordingly.
<br />
<br />c. Adoption of Ordinance No. 795, amending Section 2-5.39 of Article 3 (Site,
<br /> Yard, Bulk, Usable Open Space and Screening and Landscaping Regulations),
<br /> Chapter 2 (Zoning), Title II (Zoning and Development) of the Ordinance
<br /> Code of the City of Pleasanton relating to Yards and Courts
<br />
<br /> d. Adoption of Ordinance No. 796, amending Subsection (e) of Section 2-9.17
<br /> (Standards for Off-Street Parking Facilities), Article 16 (Off-Street
<br /> Parking Facilities), Chapter 2 (Zoning), Title II (Zoning and Development),
<br /> relating to Driveways in an R (Residential) District.
