Councilmember Mercer stated that since the Fairground activities have <br />increased from two weeks a year to fifty-two.weeks a year, he felt the <br />matter should be discussed again with the proper officials to see if some <br />amendment could be made to the Agreement to allow sewer service fees to be <br />charged. Councilmember Brandes concurred. <br /> <br /> ~.~. Robert Pearson, 3590 Churchill Court, stated that sooner or later <br />the Council would have to address the issue on phase out of the Sunol Plant <br />relative to the Fairgrounds. <br /> <br /> Mayor Philcox stated he had no objections to attempting to re-negotiate <br />the Agreement with the Fairgrounds for sewer service charges. <br /> <br /> It was moved by Councilmember Mercer, and seconded by Councilmember Brandes, <br />authorizing the members of the Fair Liaison Committee to meet with appropriate <br />representatives of Alameda County and the Fair Board to discuss possible amend- <br />ment to the 1958 Fairgrounds Agreement with the City in order to charge the <br />Fairgrounds for sewer service. <br />~]e roll call vote was as follows: <br />AYES: Councilmembers Brandes, LeClaire, Mercer, and [~yor Philcox <br />NOES: Councilmember Herlihy <br />ABSENT: None <br /> <br /> Councilmember Herlihy stated he voted No based upon the City Attorney's <br />comments and past negotiations with the Fair Board. <br /> <br />REPORTS OF BOARDS AND COMMISSIONS <br />~port~ Re: Action Taken by the Planning Commission on Items at their meeting <br />o~ J~ne 8,, 1977 <br /> ~.
