Council instructed staff to <br />write a congratulatory letter to Mr. Netton, for the Mayor's signature. <br /> <br />Commitment of Public Works Employment Act Funds <br /> Mr. Campbell presented the report of the Assistant to the City Manager- <br />Walker, dated }~y 23, 1977, regarding this matter. <br /> <br /> It was moved by Councilmember Bran~es, and seconded by Councilmember Mercer, <br />that Resolution No. 77-155, appropriating $25,597.00 of Public Works Employment <br />Act of 1976 funds to pay the salary and fringe benefits of a new Assistant Civil <br />Engineer to be hired in 1977-78, be adopted. <br />The roll call vote was as follows: <br />AYES: Councilmembers Brandes, Herlihy, LeClaire, Mercer, and Mayor Philcox <br />NOES: None ~ <br />ABSENT: None <br /> <br />REPORTS OF THE CITY ATTORNEY <br />A~endments to LAVWMA Joint Powers A~reement <br /> Mr. Scheidig presented a letter from Valley Community Services District <br />dated May 19, 1977, regarding proposed amendments to the LAVWMA Joint Powers <br />Agreement. Mr. Scheidig explained the language of the proposed changes. <br /> <br /> After discussion, it w~s moved by Councilmember Mercer, and seconded by <br />~yor Philcox, that Resolution No. 77-156, supporting_amendments in general <br />to;,the.
