Commitment of Public Works Employment Act Funds Mr. Campbell presented the report of the Assistant to the City Manager- Walker, dated }~y 23, 1977, regarding this matter. It was moved by Councilmember Bran~es, and seconded by Councilmember Mercer, that Resolution No. 77-155, appropriating $25,597.00 of Public Works Employment Act of 1976 funds to pay the salary and fringe benefits of a new Assistant Civil Engineer to be hired in 1977-78, be adopted. Mr. Scheidig explained the language of the proposed changes. After discussion, it w~s moved by Councilmember Mercer, and seconded by ~yor Philcox, that Resolution No. 77-156, supporting_amendments in general to;,the. LAV~f~Joint Powers_ Agreement subject to approval by the City's LAVWMA rep~e§entatives ~e~a~ding a proposed amendment to A8 suggested by Valley Community Services District and clarifying the industrial capacity in AS, be adopted. Councilmember Mercer requested the Heritage Tree OrHinance be reviewed. After discussion, it was moved by Councilmember Mercer, and seconded by Councilmember Brandes, that staff investigate possible changes to the Heritage Tree Ordinance.
