Council discussion ensued regarding a standard policy of advertising and <br />interviewing for every position of each Board and Commission as terms expire. <br />Councilmember LeClaire stated this was a way of evaluating the performance of <br />a Commissioner and also opening the position for anyone interested. Mayor <br />Philcox stated he felt this process is a waste of City Council and staff time <br />if the Commissioner is performing a satisfactory job. <br /> <br />PUBLIC HEARINGS <br />Request b~ Jack Kolln for removal of one Coast Redwood Heritage Tree located <br />in the rear yard at 119 Neal Street (Contd. Open from 5-9-77) <br /> Mr. Sooby presented his report dated May 4, 1977, regarding this matter. <br /> <br /> Mayor Philcox declared the public hearing open. <br /> <br /> Jack Koiln, 119 Neal Street, stated he needed the tree removed in order to <br />be able to build a garage. <br /> <br /> There being no further public testimony, Mayor Philcox declared the public <br />hearing closed. <br /> <br /> After discussion, it was moved by Councilmember Herlihy, and seconded by <br />Councilmember Mercer, that Resolution No. 77-151, approving the request by <br />Jack Kolln for removal of one Coast Redwood Heritage Tree located in the rear <br />yard at 119 Neal Street, be adopted. <br />The roll call vote was as follows:. <br />AYES: Councilmembers Brandes, Herlihy, LeClaire, Mercer, and Mayor Philcox <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENT: None <br /> <br />Appeal of the City Council to a decision of the Board of. Adjustment in approving <br />~pplicatlon V-77-5 of Darwin Dat~yler for a Variance to Sections 2-5.35 and <br />2-5.36(b) of Article 3, Chapter 2~ Title II of the Ordinance Code of the C.i~y <br />of Pleasanton to allow the subdivision of a parcel of land into seven .!.ots~ .one <br />of which would not have the required street frontaMe and several others which <br />would not meet the code requirements for minimum lot depth and width~ the <br />property. is located between the Arroyo del Valle and the extension of the Del <br />Vatle Parkway~ southeast of the intersection of the Del Valle Par~a.y and Har- <br />vest Road~ the ~ro~.erty is zoned RM-2000 (Multip.le Residential) District <br />(Contd.
