Adoption of Resolution No. 77-114, accepting Easement for a portion of <br /> Longview Drive. <br /> <br />The roll call vote was as follows: <br />AYES: Councilmembers Brandes, Herlihy, LeClaire, Mercer, and Mayor Philcox <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENT: None <br /> <br />MEETING OPEN TO THE PUBLIC <br /> Mr. Russell A. Peterson, 3263 Vineyard Avenue, Sp. 185, addressed the <br />Council regarding excessive motorcycle noise and dust in the area near the <br />Vineyard Mobile Villa, and requested City action to correct this problem. <br /> <br /> After discussion, Council instructed staff to investigate all aspects for <br />solution to the problem with the Department of Public Safety regarding possible <br />use of off-duty patrolment and private motorcycles, costs, Union permission, <br />insurance, and other related items. <br /> <br /> Councilmember LeClaire suggested the matter of motorcycles be referred to <br />the Park and Recreation Commission for their consideration and recommendation. <br /> <br /> Councilmember Brandes stated that motorcycle noise was a problem throughout <br />the entire City and requested that the Department of Public Safety make more <br />effort to enforce muffler violations. <br /> <br />PUBLIC HEARINGS <br />.ReqUest of Mrs. Margaret SCruggs for removal of one Modesto Ash HeritaSe Tree <br />at 4226 Silver Street <br /> Mr. Sooby presented his report dated April 20, 1977, regarding this matter. <br /> <br /> Mayor Philcox declared the public hearing open. <br /> <br /> No one in the audience spoke in favor of or in opposition to this item. <br /> }~yor Philcox declared the public hearing closed. <br /> <br /> After considerable discussion, it was moved by Councilmember Brandes, and <br />seconded by Councilmember Mercer, that Resolution No. 77-115, approving the <br />request of Mrs. Margaret Scruggs for removal of one Modesto Ash Heritage Tree <br />at 4226 Silver Street, be adopted. <br />The roll call vote was as follows: <br />AYES: Councilmembers Brandes, LeClaire, Mercer, and Mayor Philcox <br />NOES: Councilmember Herlihy <br />ABSENT: None <br /> <br />Application of the City Council to rezone approximately 53 acres located south <br />of Minnie Street between Sunol Boulevard and the eastern City Limit line from <br />~M-2500 (Multi-Family Residential) District~ R-1-6500 (Single Family Residen- <br />tial) District and A (A~ricultura!) District to PUD (Planned Unit Development) <br />District or any other Zoning District that the..C.ity Council finds is appro- <br />priate (Contd. Open from 2-14-77~ 2-28-77~ and 3-28-77) <br /> Mayor Philcox stated there was no information to report at this time regard- <br />ing this application.
