Council also determined that th~ sketches should be re- <br />viewed by the Planning Commission at a special meeting in the near future, <br />for their input and recommendation. <br /> <br />COMMIFNICATIONS <br />Letter from Residents of Heritage Valley~ Re: Santa Rita Road Pedestrian <br />Crossing <br /> Mrs. Marlene Suliteanu, 4131 Crisfield Lane, representing Heritage Valley <br />residents, presented a petition with 103 signatures of residents and merchants, <br />regarding safety measures on Santa Rita Road. <br /> <br /> After discussion, staff was instructed to meet with representatives of <br />Heritage Valley and Councilmember Herlihy, in an attempt to solve some of the <br />problems on Santa Rita Road relative to pedestrian safety. <br /> <br /> Council also instructed staff to remove the 55 MPH speed sign on Santa Rita <br />Road near 1-580. <br /> <br />REPORTS OF THE CITYMANAGER (Contd.) <br />Approval of Federal Aid Urban Program <br /> Mr. Sooby presented his report dated March 7, 1977, regarding this matter. <br /> <br /> After discussion, it was moved by Councilmember Herlihy, and ~econded by <br />Councilmember LeClaire, that Resolution No. 77-78, designating that F.A.U. <br />funds be allocated as follows: (1) Installation of a traffic signal at the <br />intersection of First Street and Neal Street, $41,500; (2) Construction of <br />intersection improvements and signalization at the intersection of Valley <br />Avenue and Santa Rita Road, $164,500; and (3) Construction of vehicular over- <br />crossing over Route 1-680 at West Las Positas Boulevard, including bike and <br />pedestrian lanes, $278,446; totaling $484,446.00, be adopted. <br />The roll call vote was as follows: <br />AYES: Councilmembers Brandes, Herlihy, LeClaire, Mercer, and Mayor Philcox <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENT: None <br /> <br />REPORTS OF THE CITY ATTORNEY <br />Approval of.
