MINUTES of THE MEETING' of THE CITY COUNCIL March 14, 1977 CALL TO ORDER - PLEDGE TO THE FLAG Mayor Robert Philcox called the Regular Meeting'of the City Council to order at 8:00 P.M., and then led the Pledge of Allegiance to the flag. ROLL CALL Deputy City Clerk Doris George called the roll which is recorded as follows: Councilmembers Brandes, Herlihy, LeClaire, Mercer, and Mayor Philcox were pre- sent. Mr. Campbell, Acting City Manager, Mr. Scheidig, City Attorney, Mr. Harris, Director of Planning, Mr. Sooby, Director of Engineering Services, Mr. Caporusso, Director of Human Resources, Mr. Miller and Mr. Walker, Assistants to the City Manager, were present. AGENDA AMENDMENTS Mr. Campbell stated that item 7b - Appeal of a decision of the Design Review Board to deny a signing program proposed by Blaze Custom Signs for the Davey Ace Hardware Store to be located at 1807 Santa Rita Road (Continued Open from 2-14-77 and 2-28-77), should be dismissed from the agenda as requested by the Attorney for appellant due to resolution of the matter. Mr. Campbell requested that an item be 'added as item 12c - Approval of Amend- ment to the Vintage Hills Annexation Agreement. Councilmember LeClaire requested that item 7a - Request by Mrs. Forest Els- berry for removal of One Heritage Tree at 4102 Alvarado, be continued to the meeting of March 28, 1977, 8:00 P.M., Pleasanton Council Chambers, to allow the appIicant time to consult with staff regarding alternatives and cost estimates. Mayor Philcox requested that the Minutes of February 24, 1977, be corrected on page 2, Condition 2, to read: "That action on a pay-as-you-go plan be deferred until the studies have been completed but no later than August 8, 1977". CONSENT CALENDAR It was moved by Councilmember Herlihy, and seconded by Councilmember LeClaire, that the following items listed on the Consent Calendar be approved, and the agenda as amended: a. Approval of City Council Minutes for February 24, 1977, as corrected, and February 28, 1977. b.Acceptance of report regarding action taken by the Planning Commission on items at their meeting of March 9, 1977. c.Adoption of Resolution No. 77-69, approving Claims for the month of February, 1977, in the amount of $244,524.29.
