Resolution CommendinS William H. Edga.r, Former City ManaSer ~yor Philcox read a proposed resolution commending William H. Edgar, former City ~nager, for his service to the City of Pleasanton. It was moved by Councilmember Brandes, and seconded by Councilmember Herlihy, that Resolution No. 77-55, commending William H. Edgar, former City Manager, for his dedication and outstanding service to the City of Pleasanton during his 11½ years tenure, and adjourning the meeting in respect and admiration to him, be adopted. The roll call vote was as follows: AYES: Councilmembers Brandes, Herlihy, LeClaire, Mercer, and ~yor Philcox NOES: None ~ ABSENT: None Report,.Re: Crossing Guard at the Intersection of Kottinger and Mirador Mr. Campbell presented his report dated February 22, 1977, regarding this matter, and various correspondence related to this item. Mrs. Gall G. Ruvalcaba, 709 Kottinger Avenue, presented a petition to the City Council with 575 signatures which read as follows: "This is to state that we, the undersigned, strongly favor placement of a school crossing guard at the intersection of Kottin%er and Mirador-Adams ~y. Our concern is obviously for the safety of the children who must cross at that corner." Councilmember Brandes asked if the School District could share in this responsibility. He was advised by Council.member LeClaire that'Councilmembers had met with officials of the School District last year to discuss this matter and at that time the School District indicated they felt this was the respon- sibility of the City. It was moved by Councilmember Herlihy, and seconded by Councilmember Mercer, that Resolution No. 77-56, approving a crossing guard at the Intersection of Kottinger and Mirador-Adams Way, and authorizing amendment to the budget of the Department of Public Safety for this personnel, be adopted.
