Resolution CommendinS William H. Edga.r, Former City ManaSer <br /> ~yor Philcox read a proposed resolution commending William H. Edgar, former <br />City ~nager, for his service to the City of Pleasanton. <br /> <br /> It was moved by Councilmember Brandes, and seconded by Councilmember Herlihy, <br />that Resolution No. 77-55, commending William H. Edgar, former City Manager, for <br />his dedication and outstanding service to the City of Pleasanton during his 11½ <br />years tenure, and adjourning the meeting in respect and admiration to him, be <br />adopted. <br />The roll call vote was as follows: <br />AYES: Councilmembers Brandes, Herlihy, LeClaire, Mercer, and ~yor Philcox <br />NOES: None ~ <br />ABSENT: None <br /> <br />Report,.Re: Crossing Guard at the Intersection of Kottinger and Mirador <br /> Mr. Campbell presented his report dated February 22, 1977, regarding this <br />matter, and various correspondence related to this item. <br /> <br /> Mrs. Gall G. Ruvalcaba, 709 Kottinger Avenue, presented a petition to the <br />City Council with 575 signatures which read as follows: "This is to state that <br />we, the undersigned, strongly favor placement of a school crossing guard at the <br />intersection of Kottin%er and Mirador-Adams ~y. Our concern is obviously for <br />the safety of the children who must cross at that corner." <br /> <br /> Councilmember Brandes asked if the School District could share in this <br />responsibility. He was advised by Council.member LeClaire that'Councilmembers <br />had met with officials of the School District last year to discuss this matter <br />and at that time the School District indicated they felt this was the respon- <br />sibility of the City. <br /> <br /> It was moved by Councilmember Herlihy, and seconded by Councilmember Mercer, <br />that Resolution No. 77-56, approving a crossing guard at the Intersection of <br />Kottinger and Mirador-Adams Way, and authorizing amendment to the budget of the <br />Department of Public Safety for this personnel, be adopted. <br />The roll call vote was as follows: <br />AYES: Councilmembers Brandes, Herlihy, LeClaire, Mercer, and ~yor Philcox <br />NOES: None <br />ABSEnt: None <br /> <br />PUBLIC HEARINGS <br />App. iication of the Plannin~ Commission for an amendment to Section 2-5.04 of <br />Arti.zle 1, C~.ap~er 2~ ~tle II of the Ordinance Code of the Citl of Pleasanton <br />which would clari~y w~ich projects are subject to the zonin~' laws of the CitX. <br />of Pleasanton and to urSe that those aSencies not subject to the zoning laws <br />of the Cit___7' of Pleasanton submit their proposed pr.o3Fcts to the City through _ <br />the regular~ permit and review procedures <br /> Mr. Harris presented his report dated February 22, 1977, regarding this <br />matter. <br /> <br /> >~yor Philcox declared the public hearing open. <br /> <br /> No one in the audience spoke in favor of or in opposition to this item. <br /> }~yor Philcox declared the public hearing closed. <br /> <br /> 3. 2/28/77 <br /> <br /> <br />
