It was moved by Councilmember LeClaire, and seconded by Councilmember <br /> Herlihy, that Resolution No. 77-29, denying the claim of Edward Robert <br /> Peterson, Jr., and referring said claim to the City Attorney for handling <br /> Cit ' <br /> in conjunction with the y s insurance carrier, be adopted. <br /> The roll call vote was as follows: <br /> AYES: Councilmembers Brandes, Herlihy, LeClaire, Mercer, and Mayor Philcox <br /> NOES: None <br /> ABSENT-: None <br /> <br /> COMMUNICATIONS <br /> There were no Cormnunications presented at this meeting. <br /> <br /> CITY COUNCIL COMMITTEE rREPORTS <br /> Councilmembers presented various Committee Reports for the information of <br /> the Council <br /> <br />MATTERS INITIATED BY COUNCIL MEMBERS <br /> Councilmember Herlihy inquired about the status of the old Post Office <br /> Building being used by a trade school, and requested staff to investigate <br /> this matter. <br /> <br /> Councilmember Herlihy requested that Council review the ordinance related <br />to ~ssage Parlors, and asked that this matter be placed on the agenda of <br />February 14, 1977. <br /> <br /> Councilmember Mercer-stated he felt the recent vandalism at Walnut Grove <br />School that was caused by students of Harvest Park should be paid for by <br />those students, and requested that a letter be sent to the Student Body ask- <br />ing for reimbursement for that damage. If the Student Body cannot or does <br />not pay for the damages then a letter should go to the Harvest Park PTA for <br />repayment. Council concurred. <br /> <br /> Councilmember Brandes inquired about trees not being planted by developers <br />as required in the Mackay development. Mr. Edgar stated the matter was being <br />investigated and he would have a further report next week. <br /> <br /> Councilmember Brandes requested information regarding timetable and <br />desirability of placing the Park Bond and Public Safety issues on the May <br />Ballot. <br /> <br /> Councilmember Brandes requested information regarding the severity of <br />the water shortage problem, and stated the public should be informed regard- <br />ing this matter. <br /> <br /> Councilm~mber LeClaire expressed concern regarding water conservation <br />measures and requested this matter be placed on the Council agenda as soon <br />as possible for further study and review. <br /> <br /> Mayor Philcox requested that Brad Boldrini be commended for his out- <br />standing achievements in Soccer. Council concurred. <br /> <br /> Council also concurred in commending members of the Oakland Raider Team <br />that live in Pleasanton, namely Gene Upshaw, Art Shell and Don Shinnick. <br /> <br /> 8. 1/24/77 <br /> <br /> <br />
