MINUTES <br /> of <br /> THE MEETING <br /> of <br /> THE CITY COUNCIL <br /> <br /> January 20, 1977 <br /> <br /> CALL TO ORD~.nR <br /> ~yor Robert Philcox called the Adjourned Regular Meeting of the City <br /> Council to order at 5:30 P.M., at the Pleasanton Council Chambers. <br /> <br /> ROLL CALL <br /> The roll call is recorded as follo~s: Councilmembers Brandes, Herlihy, <br /> Mercer, and ~yor Philcox were present. Councilmember LeClaire was absent. <br /> Mr. Edgar, City Manager, Mr. Campbell, Assistant City Manager/Director of <br /> Public Works, and Mr. Levine, Deputy City Attorney, were present. <br /> <br /> CITY COUNCIL DISCUSSION AND DEL.IBERATIO~, RE: LAVWMA MATTERS <br /> M~yor Philcox requested Mr. Edgar to summarize the proposed project that <br /> is now before the LAV~h~ Bo~ard. <br /> <br /> Mr. Edgar stated that the purpose of the meeting was to bring the City · <br /> Council up to date with regard to the most recent proposals that were before <br />--- the LAV~D~ Board in order to resolve the wastewater treatment problem in the <br /> Valley. Mr. Edgar also stated that the purpose of the meeting was to finalize <br /> the City Council's position with respect to the project in order' that the <br /> LAV~4A representatives to the Joint Powers Agency were aware of the Council's <br /> position on this matter. <br /> <br /> Mr. Edgar described the Engineers recommendation which among others in- <br /> cluded the following: <br /> <br /> t. To tentatively select three projects which would involve the pipeline <br /> in future reclamation. <br /> <br /> 2. To authorize the Engineers to begin design on the common elements of <br /> all three alternatives. <br /> <br /> 3. To begin preliminary reclamation studies which would include demineral- <br /> ization. <br /> <br /> 4. To file an application for Group 4 Project. <br /> <br /> In addition, Mr. Edgar stated that there were a number of technical things <br /> that the Engineers would be requesting of the Board, such as approval of an <br /> engineering agreement, authorization to apply for appropriate Federal permits <br /> for discharge, and to request the Regional Board to delay certain portions of <br /> the timetable which have been scheduled. <br /> <br /> <br />
