203 <br /> <br /> Mrs. Beth S. Lambert, 2213 Via Espada, stated she felt it was not decent to <br />expose children to this type of pornographic literature, and that there are some <br />very concerned parents wanting to clear up this issue. <br /> <br /> Councilmember Mercer stated that he had requested a report from the City <br />Attorney regarding what action Council could take regarding regulation or con- <br />trol of pornographic literature sold in stores. <br /> <br /> The City Attorney advised the report was not yet complete as he had not <br />received information from various cities as to their ordinances and legal <br />ramifications on Adult materials. He stated the report should be ready for <br />discussion at the January 10, 1978, City Council meeting. <br /> <br /> ~yor Philcox requested the City Attorney to check with the Alameda County <br />District Attorney to determine if the books presented by Mrs. Cherry would be <br />considered pornographic. <br /> <br /> Mr. Leo Heckathorn, 4202 Stanley Boulevard, thanked the City Council and <br />City ~nager for their decision to separate the police and fire departments. <br />He also asked if large white dots could be painted on the parking marking lines <br />to assist drivers in parking. Mr. Campbell stated he would investigate this <br />matter. <br /> <br />PUBLIC HEA/IINGS <br />Appeal of Mobil Oil Corporation to a decision of the Plannin~ Commission.deny- <br />in8 Case RZ-77-15, the applic~.tion of Mobil Oil Corporation to rezone the <br />property located at 5311 Hopyard Road from C-F (Commercial Freeway) to C-S <br />(Conm2erciaI Service) District <br /> Mr. Harris presented a communication from Mobil Oil Corporation requesting <br />that this appeal be continued to the meeting of January 10, 1978. <br /> <br /> Councilmember Brandes expressed opposition to continuing this matter because <br />he felt the appeal was improper and that the Planning Commission and staff de- <br />cisions were proper. <br /> <br /> Councilmember Mercer stated he felt the appellant had the right to be heard <br />and recommended the appeal be continued as requested. <br /> <br /> After discussion, Mayor Philcox declared the public hearing Open on the appeal <br />of Mobil Oil Corporation to a decision of the Planning Commission denying Case <br />RZ-77-15, the application of Mobil Oil Corporation to rezone the property located <br />at 53tl Hopyard Road from C-F (Commercial Freeway) to C-S (Commercial Service) <br />District, and continued the item to the meeting of January 10, 1978, 8:00 P.M., <br />at the Pleasanton Council Chambers. <br /> <br />Review of a neSative declaration for .a project to develop 39 duplex structures <br />on a 10-acre site located between Hopyard Road and Valley Avenue (Continued <br />Open from 11-29-77 <br /> <br />Application of Morrison Homes to rezone a 10-acre site located between Hopyard <br />Road and Valley Avenue behind the Alpha Beta Shopping Center and including both <br />sides of the future.
