The roll call vote was as follows: <br />AYES: Councilmembers Brandes, Herlihy, LeClaire, Mercer, and Mayor Philcox <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENT: None <br /> <br /> Councilmember Herlihy con~nended }~yor Philcox and Councilmember Mercer for <br />their efforts on the Sewer Committee to work out an acceptable agreement with <br />VCSD on this matter. <br /> <br />MATTERS INITIATED BY COUNCIL MEMBERS <br /> Councilmember Brandes asked the City Attorney if it would be possible for <br />the Housing Authority to locate low income housing within Pleasanton on the <br />basis of the 1972 Referendum. Mr. Scheidig reviewed a draft report he sub- <br />mitted to the Growth ~nagement Committee on the question of low income housing. <br />He briefly reviewed the purpose of the 1972 Referendum and the most recent Refer- <br />endum held by the Housing Authority in the Camp Parks area. Mr. Scheidig indi- <br />cated that he believed that the City could not rely upon the 1972 Referendum to <br />build low income housing units and that the Housing Authority may be precluded <br />from locating units in Pleasanton on the basis of the 1972 Referendum. However, <br />he believed that low income units could be built in the City by private indi- <br />viduals even though subsequently those units may be administered by the Housing <br />Authority or the City. <br /> <br /> Mayor Philcox presented a letter from Chabot College requesting citizen <br />participation in community workshops dealing with exploring various aspects <br />of implementing the use of solar energy in the Livermore-Amador Valley. <br />Councilmember Herlihy volunteered to participate in this program. <br /> <br /> }~yor Philcox stated he had received numerous complaints regarding bicyclists <br />riding on the sidewalks causing accidents, and he requested the bicycle ordinance <br />be enforced, as much as possible. <br /> <br />CITY COUNCIL CALENDAR <br /> Mr. Brown presented the Council Calendar for the information of Councilmembers. <br /> <br /> Mayor Philcox stated Council meetings for November would be held on November <br />8 and November 29, 1977, with the NovemBer 22nd City Council meeting cancelled. <br /> <br /> The City Attorney presented a letter regarding the Keefe settlement. <br /> <br />ADJOURNMENT <br /> There being no further business at 11:45 P.M., it was moved by Councilmember <br />Mercer, and seconded by Councilmember Brandes, that the meeting be adjourned to <br />meet again in Adjourned Regular Session at 7:30 P.M., on October 27, 1977, at <br />the Pleasanton Council Chambers. <br />The roll call vote was as follows: <br />AYES: Councilmembers Brandes, Herlihy, LeClaire, Mercer, and ~yor Philcox <br />NOES: None <br />ABS~qT: None <br /> <br />Respectfully Submitted, <br /> <br />~E.
