It was moved by Councilmember Mercer, and seconded by ~ouncilmember Herlihy, <br />that Resolution No. 77-235, declaring that a three (3) foot strip of property, <br />acquired as part of Peters Avenue right-of-way, is not useable by the City and <br />is thus surplus property which shall be conveyed to the owners of 480 St. John <br />Street in exchange for street improvement and dedications on Peters Avenue <br />immediately adjacent to 480 St. John Street, be adopted. <br />The roll call vote was as follows: <br />AYES: Councilmembers Herlihy, LeClaire, Mercer, and Mayor Philcox <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENT: Councilmember Brandes <br /> <br />Consideration of Legislation <br /> Mr. Scheidig presented his report dated August 18, 1977, regarding this matter. <br /> <br /> Council took the following action: <br /> <br /> AB-1278 - Support <br /> SB-201 - Support <br /> SB-1058 - Support <br /> SB-724 - Oppose (Councilmember LeClaire abstained) <br /> AB-1533 - Support <br /> <br /> Mayor Philcox requested that a position be taken by Council in opposition to <br />AB-1151. Council concurred. <br /> <br /> Councilmember LeClaire requested that a position be taken by Council in support <br />of AB-911. Council concurred. <br /> <br />COMMUNICATIONS <br /> There were no Communications presented at this meeting. <br /> <br />CITY COUNCIL COMMITTEE REPORTS <br /> Councilmembers presented various Committee Reports for the information of <br />the Council. <br /> <br /> Councilmember LeClaire stated that progress was being made to relocate the <br />Ambulance Company in Pleasanton. <br /> <br /> Mayor Philcox reported on the meetings of the Sewer Committees regarding <br />finalization of consolidation plans, stating that agreement had not yet been <br />reached between VCSD and the City, and that positions by each agency would be <br />presented to the State for arbitration by September 8th. <br /> <br />MATTERS INITIATED BY COUNCIL MEMBERS <br /> Councilmember Herlihy requested staff to initiate action to improve the <br />Western Padific Railroad Crossing on Santa Rita Road. <br /> <br /> Councilmember LeClaire requested that a historical landmark advisory committee <br />be established, in response to the City Attorney's report dated August 22, 1977, <br />regarding the Historical Landmark Overlay District. After discussion, Council <br />determined to continue this matter to the meeting of September 13, 1977, for <br />further review. <br /> <br /> 8. 8/23/77 <br /> <br /> <br />
