<br /> It was moved by Councilmember LeClaire, and seconded by Councilmember Mercer,
<br />that Ordinance No. 831, to be read by title only and waiving further reading thereof,
<br />amending Section 2-5.30(a) (Swimming Pool), to Article 2, Chapter 2, Title II, by
<br />modifying the definition of swimming pools; amending. Section 2-5.44 (AccesSory
<br />Structures, Location and Yards), of Article 3, Chapter2, by adding Subsection (e)
<br />relating to swimming pools; amending Section 2-6.13 (Permitted Uses in the R-1
<br />District), of Article 5, Chapter 2, by deleting Subsection (f) relating to swim-
<br />ming pools and renumbering the remaining sections; amending Section 2-6.24 (Per-
<br />mitted Uses in the R-M District), of Article 6, Chapter 2, by deleting Subsection
<br />(d), relating to swimming pools and renumbering the remaining sections; and amend-
<br />ing Chapter 11 (Swimming Pools) of Title II by adding Section 2-18.31 relating to
<br /> '
<br />application and exemptions, be introduced.

<br />Discussion~ Re: Proposed County Government Building
<br /> Mr. Harris presented his report dated August 12, 1977, regarding this matter.
<br />He stated staff felt the Sunol Boulevard flat site was the best location for the
<br />proposed County Government Building because of its proximity to the Civic Center,
<br />generation of supporting land uses in the area, increase activity in the downtown
<br />area, spur completion of Bernal Avenue extension, good access, give prestige to
<br />Pleasanton, public transportation available, a good geographical location, sewer
<br />connections available, and good working environment for people in the Valley.
<br />
<br /> Mr. Harris stated staff felt a site on Hopyard Road would be second choice
<br />because of good geographical location, good vehicular access, public transporta-
<br />tion available, and provide Pleasanton with an administrative center.
<br />
<br /> Mr. Harris stated staff felt the Santa Rita Road site was last choice because
<br />of its remoteness, no supporting land uses in the area, no public transportation,
<br />and poor working environment.
<br />

<br />Government Center being located on the Sunol Boulevard flat site area:
