Councilmember Wood stated he shared Councilmember Brandes' concern for <br />senior citizens. He stated he felt there was a lack of communication between <br />the Housing Authority and the City Council, and agreed that a joint meeting <br />should be held to discuss various matters of concern. He requested this meet- <br />ing be held as soon as possible to settle the issues in question and prevent <br />further division of residents at Kottinger Plance and eliminate adverse publi- <br />city. <br /> <br /> After discussion, City Council and the Housing Authority Board scheduled <br />a public meeting on July 18, 1978, 7:30 P.M., to be held at Kottinger Place. <br /> <br /> Councilmember Wood thanked the Housing Authority Board and staff for their <br />patience in this matter. <br /> <br />REPORTS OF BOARDS AND COMMISSIONS <br />Report, Re: Action Taken by the Plannin~ Commission on Items at their Meetin~ <br />of June 14~ 1978 <br /> ~dr. Harris presented his report dated June 19, 1978, regarding this matter <br />for the information of the Council. No action was required or taken by Council <br />on this item. <br /> <br />REPORTS OF THE CITY ~ANAGER <br />Mission Park Zonin~ Study (Cont~.. from 6-13-78) <br /> I,~. Harris presented his report dated June 7, 1978, regarding this matter. <br /> <br /> Mr. Robert Grove, 5555 San Jose, President of the Mission Park Homeowners <br />Association, presented a Zoning Map of Mission Park showing location of the <br />three parcels in question. He also presented charts and statistics revealing <br />a high percentage of multiples proposed for Mission Park. He discussed various <br />traffic problems. Mr. Grove requested the two RM-1500 parcels be rezoned to <br />RM-4000, and the R-1-6500 parcel be rezoned Public and Institutional. <br /> <br /> The following persons spoke supporting the rezoning as requested by Mr. <br />Grove and presented their reasons for requesting the change: <br /> <br /> Jim Dutcher, 5782 San Antonio <br /> James ~rphy, 409 San Gabriel Court <br /> Sharon Anderson, 5471 San Jose Drive <br /> Karen Moore, 5689 San Antonio <br /> Larry Moore, 5689 San Antonio <br /> John Stevens, 5696 San Juan Way <br /> Pete Googtns <br /> <br /> After discussion, it was moved by Councilmember Brandes, and seconded by <br />Councilmember Wood, to initiate a rezontng of three parcels in Mission Park <br />as follows: (1) the RM-1500 parcel on Junipero be rezoned to RM-4000; (2) the <br />~-1500 parcel on Sonoma be rezoned to RM-4000; and (3) the R-1-6500 parcel <br />on Sunol Boulevard be rezoned to Public and Institutional. <br />The roll call vote was as follows: <br />AYES: Councilmen Brandes, Butler, Wood, and Mayor Mercer <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENT: Counci!m~n Kephart <br /> <br /> After further discussion, Mayor Mercer instructed the CityManager and Police <br />Chief to study the traffic peoblems in the Mission Park area and report back to <br />City Council and the Mission Park Homeowners Association, with possible solutions <br />to this matter. <br /> <br /> 8. 6/27/78 <br /> <br /> <br />
