Councilmember Wood stated he shared Councilmember Brandes' concern for senior citizens. He stated he felt there was a lack of communication between the Housing Authority and the City Council, and agreed that a joint meeting should be held to discuss various matters of concern. He requested this meet- ing be held as soon as possible to settle the issues in question and prevent further division of residents at Kottinger Plance and eliminate adverse publi- city. After discussion, City Council and the Housing Authority Board scheduled a public meeting on July 18, 1978, 7:30 P.M., to be held at Kottinger Place. Councilmember Wood thanked the Housing Authority Board and staff for their patience in this matter. REPORTS OF THE CITY ~ANAGER Mission Park Zonin~ Study (Cont~.. from 6-13-78) I,~. Harris presented his report dated June 7, 1978, regarding this matter. Mr. Robert Grove, 5555 San Jose, President of the Mission Park Homeowners Association, presented a Zoning Map of Mission Park showing location of the three parcels in question. He also presented charts and statistics revealing a high percentage of multiples proposed for Mission Park. He discussed various traffic problems. Mr. Grove requested the two RM-1500 parcels be rezoned to RM-4000, and the R-1-6500 parcel be rezoned Public and Institutional. The following persons spoke supporting the rezoning as requested by Mr. Grove and presented their reasons for requesting the change: Jim Dutcher, 5782 San Antonio James ~rphy, 409 San Gabriel Court Sharon Anderson, 5471 San Jose Drive Karen Moore, 5689 San Antonio Larry Moore, 5689 San Antonio John Stevens, 5696 San Juan Way Pete Googtns After discussion, it was moved by Councilmember Brandes, and seconded by Councilmember Wood, to initiate a rezontng of three parcels in Mission Park as follows: (1) the RM-1500 parcel on Junipero be rezoned to RM-4000; (2) the ~-1500 parcel on Sonoma be rezoned to RM-4000; and (3) the R-1-6500 parcel on Sunol Boulevard be rezoned to Public and Institutional. The roll call vote was as follows: AYES: Councilmen Brandes, Butler, Wood, and Mayor Mercer NOES: None ABSENT: Counci!m~n Kephart After further discussion, Mayor Mercer instructed the CityManager and Police Chief to study the traffic peoblems in the Mission Park area and report back to City Council and the Mission Park Homeowners Association, with possible solutions to this matter. 8. 6/27/78
