Mr. Brown advised that the Consultant study on the Cheese Factory, as <br />required in their discharge permit, had been received and would be scheduled <br />for Council review in July. <br /> <br /> Mr. Broken stated he expected to have a Consultant study soon on the Villa <br />Armando Winery regarding their discharge. <br /> <br /> Mr. Brown presented correspondence from Congressman Pete Stark and Senator <br />Hayakawa stating they would pursue investigation of the Federal Correctional <br />Institute regarding concerns of the City Council. <br /> <br />~.eRuest of C~ty of Livermore,~ Re: Pa~.tiC.ipation in Joint Study of Feasibility <br />of Fire Service Consolidation <br /> Mr Brown presented a letter from the City of Livermore dated June 16, 1978, <br />regarding feasibility of consolidation of fire services in the Valley. Council <br />expressed willingness to explore this possibility and instructed the City Manager <br />and Fire Chief to pursue the matter for further consideration. <br /> <br />Acceptance of Grant Offers for Interceptor Sewer and Pump Stations <br /> Mr. Campbell stated that grants had been received regarding these two projects. <br /> <br /> After discussion, this matter was continued for further discussion in Execu- <br />tive Session regarding possible litigation. <br /> <br />REPORTS OF THE CITY ATTORNEY <br />Second Report on Governor's Urban Strategy <br /> Mr. Levine advised that the Bill regarding Governor's Urban Strategy had been <br />killed or died due to the passage of Proposition 13. Mr. Levine requested con- <br />tinued authority to write letters as necessary in support of the League's posi- <br />tion on this matter. Council approved this request. <br /> <br />Reject Claim of McInty~.e <br /> Mr. Levine presented his report dated June 22, 1978, regarding this matter. <br /> <br /> It was moved by Councilmember Brandes, and seconded by Councilmember Butler, <br />that the claim of Walter F. McIntyre be denied and referred to the City Attorney's <br />office for handling. <br />The roll call vote was as follows: <br />AYES: Councilmen Brandes, Butler, Wood, and Mayor Mercer <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENT: Councilman Kephart <br /> <br />COMMUNICATIONS <br /> There were no communications presented at this meeting. <br /> <br />CITY COUNCIL COMMITTEE REPORTS <br /> Councilmembers presented various Committee Reports for the information of the <br />Council. <br /> <br /> After discussion regarding the Library, Council instructed Councilmember <br />Butler, the Library Liaison member, to investigate the possibility of the County <br />turning the Library over to the City to operate. <br /> <br />MATTERS INITIATED BY COUNCIL MEMBERS <br />Mayor Mercer asked if Council was interested in starting the neighborhood <br />meetings again. ~ <br /> <br /> 12. 6/27/78 <br /> <br /> <br />
