MINUTES of THE MEETING of THE CITY COUNCIL June 27, 1978 PRESF2]TATION BY WELCOME WAGON At 7:45 P.M., Mrs. Edith Fisher, representing the Welcome Wagon, presented a Certificate of Appreciation to the City for their cooperation and interest in the Welcome Wagon activities. She also made a gift of a cake in honor of Welcome Wagon's 50th year of operation. Mayor Mercer presented a Proclamation to the Welcome Wagon organization, congratulating and commending them on their 50th Anniversary. CALL TO ORDER - PLEDGE TO TIlE FLAG ~yor Kenneth Mercer called the Regular Meeting of the City Council to order at 8:00 P.M., and then led the Pledge of Allegiance to the flag. ROLL C~L Deputy City Clerk Doris George called the roll which is recorded as follows: Councilmembers Brandes, Butler, Wood, and Mayor Mercer were present. Councilmember Kephart was absent. Mr. Brown, City }~nager, Mr. Levine, City Attorney, Mr. Harris, Director of Planning and Community Development, Mr. Campbell, Director of Public Works and Utilities, Mr. Walker, Assistant to the City Manager, and Mr. Swift, Planning Analyst, were present. AGEN~A AMENDMENTS Mr. Brown requested that an item be added as item 4g - Approval of Agreement for Reimbursement for Street Improvement Costs between City and Pete and Angela Gerardini. Mr. Brown requested that an item be added as item 10k - Acceptance of Grant Offers for Interceptor Sewer and Pump Stations. Mr. Brown stated that an Executive Session would be held regarding Personnel. Councilmember Brandes requested that item 7a - Adoption of Ordinance No. 854, to fezone a 3.8 acre parcel of land located on the east side of Santa Rita Road immediately north of the Arroyo Mocho from the RM-2500 (Multiple Family Residen- tial) District to the C-N (Commercial Neighborhood) District, and amending the Zoning Map of the City of Pleasanton accordingly (Intro. on 6-13-78, by a 3-2 vote), be continued to July 11, 1978, for full Council attendance. Council concurred. CONSENT CALENDAR It was moved by Councilmember Brandes, and seconded by Councilmember Butler, that the following items listed on the Consent Calendar as amended thereto be approved: a. Approval of City Council Minutes for 6-5-78 and 6-13-78. b. Proclaim Week of July 16, 1978, as Welcome Wagon Week. c. Adoption of Resolution No. 78-164, approving Claims for the month of May, 1978, in the amount of $349,016.05.
