MINUTES <br /> of <br /> THE MEETING <br /> of <br /> THE CITY COUNCIL <br /> <br /> June 20, 1978 <br /> <br />CALL TO ORDER <br /> Mayor Kenneth Mercer called the Adjourned Regular Meeting of the City Council <br />to order at 8:00 P.M. <br /> <br />ROLL CALL <br /> Deputy City Clerk Doris George called the roll which is recorded as follows: <br />Councilmen Brandes, Wood, and Mayor Mercer were present. Councilmen Butler and <br />Kephart were absent. Mr. Brown, City Manager, Mr. Levine, City Attorney, Mr. <br />Campbell, Director of Public Works and Utilities, Mr. Walker, Assistant to the <br />City }~nager, and Mr. Swift, Planning Analyst, were present <br /> <br />AGE~DA~4ENDMENTS <br /> Mr. Brown requested that an Executive Session be held at the end of the <br />meeting to discuss litigation. <br /> <br />AUTHORiL~TION TO C~IL FOR BIDS - INTERCEPTOR SEWER PROJECT AND PUMP STATIONS <br /> Mr. Campbell presented his report dated June 13, 1978, regarding this matter. <br />He also presented a minor modification added as Clarification No. 1 to the two <br />pump stations project plans and specifications. <br /> <br /> It was moved b~, Councilmember Brandes, and seconded by Councilmember Wood, <br />that Resolution No. 78-160, approving plans and specifications for interceptor <br />sewer project, and plans and specifications including Clarification No. 1, <br />dated june 20, 1978, for two pump stations, and authorizing call for bids on <br />these projects, be adopted. <br />The roll call vote was as follows: <br />AYES: Councilmen Brandes, Wood, and Mayor Mercer <br />NOES: None <br />ABSEN"f: Councilmen Butler and Kephart <br /> <br />1978-79 CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT PROGRAM <br /> Mr. Brown stated that some capital improvement projects c6uld not be can- <br />called because funds were restricted to these expenditures and cannot be used <br />for other purposes. He added that some projects were very important regardless <br />of the financial constraints of the budget, such as the interceptor sewer, <br />Stoneridge shopping center improvements, youth sports park, etc. <br /> <br /> }~yor Mercer stated that with the passage of Proposition 13 that all capital <br />improvement funds should be carefully examined to determine the best possible <br />use of funds. <br /> <br /> . Cit's <br /> Mr Brown emphasized that until the y share of the property tax is <br />determined it is impossible to make accurate plans or projections. He stated <br />he hoped to have this figure soon. <br /> <br /> <br />
