After discussion, it was moved by Councilmember Brandes, and seconded by <br /> Councilmember Kephart, that the Mayor be authorized to send letters to Con- <br /> gressman Stark and Senators Cranston and Holmdahl stating the concerns of the <br /> Council regarding the nature of the Federal facility, why the changeover from <br /> the original concept, and concern over type of people being housed there and <br /> talk about future expansion. <br /> The roll call vote was as follows: <br /> AYES: Councilmen Brandes, Butler, Kephart, Wood, and l~ayor Mercer <br /> NOES: None <br /> ABSENT: None <br /> <br />MATTERS~INITIATED BY COUNCIL M[MBERS <br /> Councilmember Kephart inquired as to the status of a report requested pre- <br /> viously regarding the labor negotiator and the completion of the Memorandums <br /> of Understanding. Mr. Brown advised that no meetings had been held regarding <br /> this matter but he expected meetings to be scheduled in the next week or two. <br /> Councilmember Brandes stated he felt the meetings should be initiated very soon. <br /> <br /> Councilmember Brandes stated he felt the percentage of slope allowed for <br /> streets under the Hillside Planned Development Ordinance should be lowered to <br /> possibly 15%. After discussion, no action was taken on this matter. <br /> <br /> Councilmember Brandes stated he felt truck parking on Johnson Industrial <br />Drive presented a safety hazard and damage to shoulder of the roadway and pave- <br />ment edge, and requested that No Parking be considered along this area. Staff <br />was instructed to investigate and report on this matter. <br /> <br /> Councilmember Brandes stated he felt the policy regarding Variances to <br />allow a second story addition to houses should be reviewed by Council. After <br />discussion, Council took no action on this matter. <br /> <br /> CITY COUNCIL CALENDAR <br /> Mr. Broken presented the Calendar for the information of the Council. <br /> <br />'[IECUTIVE SESSION <br /> Mayor Mercer recessed the meeting at 12:15 A.M. to an Executive Session <br /> to discuss pending litigation. <br /> <br /> Mayor Mercar reconvened the meeting at 12:30 P.M. <br /> <br />ADJOURNMENT <br /> There being no further business at 12:35 A.M., it was moved by Councilmember <br />Brandes, and seconded by Councilmember Butler, that the meeting be adjourned to <br />meet again in Special Session on May 30, 1978, 5:00 P.M., Pleasanton Council <br />Chambers. <br />The roll call vote was as follows: <br />AYES: Councilmen Brandes, Butler, Kephart, Wood, and Mayor Mercer <br />~OES: None <br />ABSEI~r: None <br /> <br />Respectfully Submitted, <br /> <br /> 11. 5/23/78 <br /> <br /> <br />
