He also requested that the
Police Department contact the School District to impress upon the students
methods of safer driving. Mr. Brown stated he would advise the Police Depart-
ment of this request, and that he would report on the feasibility of the guard
rails.

Councilmember Brandes stated that signs in the medians on Foothill Road
kept getting knocked down, and he suggested these signs be placed in better
locations.

Councilmember Brandes expressed concern regarding the operation and adminis-
tration of Kottinger Place. Councilmember Wood requested to be on the proposed sub-committee since
he is the City Council liaison member to the Housing Authority. Mayor Mercer
appointed Councilmembers Brandes and Wood to serve on a sub-committee to meet
with the Housing Authority staff and Board regarding areas of concern at Kot-
ringer Place and Komandorski Village. Council concurred.

Councilmember Wood asked about the Chamber of Commerce's participation in
some type of memento for the City of Pleasanton. Mr. Brown advised that meetings had
been and were currently in progress in an attempt to complete the Memorandums
of Understanding. Councilmember Brandes stated he felt they should have been
finished before now. Mayor Mercer requested a progress report regarding this
matter.

CITY COUNCIL CALENDAR
Mr. Broken presented the Calendar for the information of the Council.

EXECUTIVE SESSION
~yor Mercer recessed the meeting at 10:15 P.M., to an Executive Session to
discuss pending litigation.

Mayor Mercer reconvened the meeting at 10:30 P.M.

ADJOURnlENT
There being no further business at 10:35 P.M., it was moved by Councilmember
Kephart, and seconded by Councilmember Wood, that the meeting be adjourned to
meet again in Special Session on May 16, 1978, 7:30 P.M., Pleasanton Council
Chambers.

9. 5/9/78
