BOX 520 -:- PLEASANTON, CALIFORNIA 94566 <br /> <br /> March 16, 1978 <br /> <br />Dear Mayor Mercer and Members of the Council: <br /> <br />This is to inform you that effective Friday, March 17, 1978, I will resign my <br />seat on the City Council. <br /> <br />It is with deep regret that I make this decision. I do so for personal reasons. <br /> <br />I find that after serving six years on the Council and six years on the Park <br />and Recreation Commission, the challenge and excitement of serving Pleasanton <br />is still there. It is most gratifying that through all the years, we still <br />maintain a small town atmosphere. <br /> <br />I am proud of our park system and the fine programs offered our community <br />through the Recreation Department. A cooperative city government and citizen <br />participation has made our community an outstanding place to live. <br /> <br />I note with a great deal of personal satisfaction the growth and renewal of <br />our do%mto~m, new shopping center~ and the start of the regional shopping <br />center. These are important in providing a service to our residents as well <br />as enhancing our economic base. <br /> <br />Our growth management plan will, I am sure, become a model for other cities <br />and will help preserve many of the fine qualities of Pleasanton. <br /> <br />May I wish each of you the same satisfaction and pleasure of serving Pleasanton <br />that I received these past years. <br /> <br /> Sincerely, <br /> <br />WJH:dg <br /> <br /> <br />
