Council discussion ensued regarding the average size and cost of pickup and <br />truck dumping at the Transfer Station, size of cans for home pickup, and com- <br />parison of rates with other cities. <br /> <br /> Councilmember Butler asked the Council Garbage Committee members if they <br />were satisfied that all allowable categories were appropriate as requested by <br />the Garbage Company. Mayor Mercer and Councilmember Brandes stated that much <br />time had been spent on this matter and it was the most realistic and amenable <br />conclusion that was acceptable to both parties. <br /> <br /> Mr. Anjo questioned the salaries of the officers of the Garbage Company. <br />Mr. Gielow, Accountant for Pleasanton Garbage Service, explained the limit on <br />Rate of Equity and how it related to salaries of the Garbage Company o~ners. <br /> <br /> After discussion, it was moved by Councilmember Brandes, and seconded by <br />Councilmember Butler, that Resolution No. 78-313, approving a revision to the <br />garbage rates charged by Pleasanton Garbage Service, as set forth in the re- <br />port of the Council Garbage Committee dated December 21, 1978, with the modi- <br />fication that senior citizen rates remain at the current rate, to become <br />effective January 1, 1979, be adopted. <br />The roll call vote was as follows: <br />AYES: Councilmen Brandes, Butler, Kephart, Wood, and Mayor Mercer <br />NOES: None <br />ABSEnt: None <br /> <br />SURPLUS VEHICLES <br /> Mr. Thurman Caudill, 4715B Augustine, spoke in opposition to the method of <br />bidding for the disposition of surplus City vehicles. After discussion, Council <br />concurred that the existing policy on the disposition of surplus City vehicles <br />was proper. <br /> <br />ADJOUR_~R~ENT <br /> There being no further business at 5:55 P.M., it was moved by Councilmember <br />Brar~es, and seconded by Mayor Mercer, that the meeting be adjourned to meet <br />again in Regular Session on 3anuary 9, 1979, 8:00 P.M., Fairgrounds Cafeteria. <br />The roll call vote was as follows: <br />AYES: Councilmen Brandes, Butler, Kephart, Wood, and Mayor Mercer <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENT: None <br /> <br />Respectfully submitted, <br /> <br /> <br />
