Council discussion ensued regarding the average size and cost of pickup and truck dumping at the Transfer Station, size of cans for home pickup, and com- parison of rates with other cities. Councilmember Butler asked the Council Garbage Committee members if they were satisfied that all allowable categories were appropriate as requested by the Garbage Company. Mayor Mercer and Councilmember Brandes stated that much time had been spent on this matter and it was the most realistic and amenable conclusion that was acceptable to both parties. Mr. Anjo questioned the salaries of the officers of the Garbage Company. Mr. Gielow, Accountant for Pleasanton Garbage Service, explained the limit on Rate of Equity and how it related to salaries of the Garbage Company o~ners. After discussion, it was moved by Councilmember Brandes, and seconded by Councilmember Butler, that Resolution No. 78-313, approving a revision to the garbage rates charged by Pleasanton Garbage Service, as set forth in the re- port of the Council Garbage Committee dated December 21, 1978, with the modi- fication that senior citizen rates remain at the current rate, to become effective January 1, 1979, be adopted. The roll call vote was as follows: AYES: Councilmen Brandes, Butler, Kephart, Wood, and Mayor Mercer NOES: None ABSEnt: None SURPLUS VEHICLES Mr. Thurman Caudill, 4715B Augustine, spoke in opposition to the method of bidding for the disposition of surplus City vehicles. After discussion, Council concurred that the existing policy on the disposition of surplus City vehicles was proper. ADJOUR_~R~ENT There being no further business at 5:55 P.M., it was moved by Councilmember Brar~es, and seconded by Mayor Mercer, that the meeting be adjourned to meet again in Regular Session on 3anuary 9, 1979, 8:00 P.M., Fairgrounds Cafeteria.
