MINUTES of TttE MEETING of THE CITY COUNCIL October 24, 1978 INTERVIEWS FOR If0MAN SERVICES COI~IISSIONERS The Mayor and Councilmembers met at 7:00 P.M., to interview the following persons for the three vacancies on the Human Services Commission: Gerald V. Kramer ~ Marcelline Mahern ~ t~rin Mohr 'D o-' CALL TO ORDER - PLEDGE TO THE FLAG Mayor Kenneth Mercer called the Regular Meeting of the City Council to order at 8:00 P.M., and then led the Pledge of Allegiance to the flag. ROLL CALL Deputy City Clerk Doris George called the roll which 'is recorded as follows: Councilmembers Brandes, Butler, Kephart, Wood, and Mayor Mercer. Mr. Brown, City Manager, Mr. Levine, City Attorney, Mr. Campbell, Director of Public Works and Utilities, Mr. Harris, Director of Planning and Community Development, Mr. McCloud, Chief of Police, and Mr. Klenk, Fire Marshal, were present. AGENDA ~ENDMENTS Mr. Bro~ advised there would be an Executive Session at the conclusion of this meeting to discuss personnel and litigation. Mr. Bro~ requested the following items be added to the Consent Calendar: item 4j - Request of the Chamber of Commerce to hang a Banner on the Main Street Sign, November 3-13, 1978, for Air Stream Convention. item 4k - Request of the Chamber of Commerce to hang a Banner on the }~in Street Sign, Dec. 4-26, 1978, for Holiday Greetings. item 41 - Proclaim November 6-11, 1978, as Lions World Service Week. Mr. Brown requested an item be added to Reports of the City Manager as follows: item !2e - Recommended Change to Ordinance Re: Residential Construction Tax. Mr. Bro~,m requested an item be added to Reports of the City Attorney as follows: item 13b - Act of God Insurance on the Interceptor Sewer Project. " Mr. Brown stated that staff requests that item 8c - Application of the Planning Comission to amend Chapter 2, Title II of the Ordinance Code of the City of Pleasanton by Adding Article 34, Scenic Iiighway Overlay District, be continued to the meeting of November 21, 1978, to allow additional information to be pre- sented. Council concurred.
