Application of Harris ~ealty to rezone an approximately 1.1 acre .parcel of land <br /> located at the northwest corner of Johnson Industrial Drive and HOpyard Road from <br /> the I-G (General Industrial) District to the 0 (.Office) District or any other <br /> zoning district consistent with the,General Plan. A negative declaration of <br /> environmental impact will also be considered <br /> Mr. Harris presented his report dated September 21, 1978, regarding this matter. <br /> <br /> Council discussion ensued regarding future expansion of the freeway interchange <br /> or widening of Hopyard Road that might affect this property. Mr. Campbell advised <br /> that it was the State's intention to expand to the east of this property. <br /> <br /> ~yor Mercer declared the public hearing open on the negative declaration and <br /> the application. <br /> <br /> Mr. Mike Harris, applicant, stated he felt this was a good use for the property <br /> and was needed in this area. <br /> <br /> Mr. Reynaldo Martinoz, Los Altos, Traffic Consultant for the applicant, stated <br /> the propo'sed development would not create any significant impact on traffic con- <br /> ditions at this location. <br /> <br /> Mr. William Kovac, 3124 Weymouth Court, stated he was neither in favor of or <br /> opposed to the application but felt Council should consider that Hopyard Road was <br /> not adaptable to widening to four lanes at this location. <br /> <br /> There being no further public testimony, Mayor Mercer declared the public <br /> hearing closed on the negative declaration and the application. <br /> <br /> it was moved by Councilmember Brandes, and seconded by Mayor Mercer, that <br /> Resolution No. 78-253, determining on the basis of a review of initial environ- <br /> menthol study done for this project, that no significant environmental impact <br /> Cit ' <br /> would occur as ou-%iined in the y s guidelines and that a Negative Declaration <br /> is appropriate to rezone an approximately 1.1 acre parcel of land located at the <br /> northwest corner of Johnson Industrial Drive and Hopyard Road from the I-G (General <br /> Indus~_~riai) District to the 0 (Office) District, be adopted. <br /> The ro~ call vote ,~s as follows: <br /> AYES: Councilmen Brandes, Butler, Kephart, Wood, and Mayor Mercer <br /> NOES: None <br /> ABStNT: None <br /> <br /> It was moved by Councilmember Brandes, and seconded by Councilmember Butler, <br /> that an ordinance to rezone an approximate 1.1 acre of land located at the north- <br /> west corner of Johnson Industrial Drive and Hopyard Road be read by title only <br /> and waive further reading thereof. <br /> The roll call vote was as follows: <br /> AYES: Councilmen Brandes, Butler, Kephart, Wood, and Mayor Mercer <br /> NOES: None <br /> ABSENT: None <br /> <br /> It was moved by Councilmember Brandes, and seconded by Councilmember Butler, <br /> that Ordinance No. 867, to fezone an approximately 1.1 acre parcel of land located <br /> at the northwest corner of Johnson Industrial Drive and Hopyard Road from the I-G <br /> (General Industrial) District to the 0 (Office) District, and amending the Zoning <br /> }~p of the City of Pleasanton accordingly, be introduced. <br /> <br /> 7. 10/3/78 <br /> <br /> <br />
