MINUTES <br /> of <br /> THE MEETING <br /> of <br /> THE CITY COUNCIL <br /> <br /> August 8, 1978 <br /> <br /> CALL TO ORDER - PLEDGE TO THE FLAG <br /> Mayor Kenneth Mercer called the Regular Meeting of the City Council to order <br /> at 8:00 P.M., and then led the Pledge of Allegiance to the flag. <br /> <br />ROLL C~LL. <br /> Deputy City Clerk Doris George called the roll which is recorded as follows: <br />Councilmembers Brandes, Butler, Kephart, Wood, and Mayor Mercer were present. Mr. <br />Broom, City Manager, Mr. Levine, City Attorney, Mr. Campbell, Director of Public <br />Works and Utilities, Mr. Harris, Director of Planning and Community Development, <br />and Mr. Walker, Assistant to the City Manager, were present. <br /> <br />AGEN~AAMEN~MENTS <br /> There were no agenda amendments presented at this meeting. <br /> <br /> Mr. Brown advised there would be an Executive Session at the conclusion of <br /> the meeting regarding litigation. <br /> <br /> CONSENT CALENDAR <br /> It was moved by Councilmember Brandes, and seconded by Councilmember Kephart, <br /> that the following items listed on the Consent Calendar be approved: <br /> <br />a. Approval of City Council Minutes for 7-18-78 and 7-25-78. <br /> <br />b. Proclaim August 14-19, 1978, as Muscular Dystrophy Week. <br /> <br /> c. Adoption of Resolution No. 78-193, approving Claims for the month of June, <br /> 1978, in the amount of $422,812.03. <br /> <br />d. Adoption of Resolution No. 78-194, accepting improvements for the installation <br /> of Thermoplastic, approving final payment to Riley's Striping Service, Inc., <br /> in the amount of $17,942.07, and authorizing that Notice of Completion be filed. <br /> <br /> e. Adoption of Resolution No. 78-195, approving Program Supplement No. 8 to Local <br /> Agency-State Agreement No. 04-5101 for Federal Aid Improvements for grade <br /> crossing improvements at Angela Street at Southern Pacific Railroad, Bernal <br /> Avenue at Western Pacific Railroad, and West Angela Street at Western Pacific <br /> Railroad. <br /> <br />f. Adoption of Resolution No. 78-196, approving Plans and Specifications and <br /> calling for Construction Bids, Assessment District 1974-3, Stoneridge Center. <br /> <br />g. Adoption of Resolution No. 78-197, approving Plans and Specifications and <br /> authorization to call for bids - Pavement Widening, Santa Rite Road at West <br /> Las Positas Blvd. <br /> <br />The roll call vote was as follows: <br />AYES: Councilmen Brandes, Butler, Kephart, Wood, and Mayor Mercer <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENT: None <br /> <br /> <br />
