MINUTES <br /> of <br /> THE MEETING <br /> of <br /> THE CITY COUNCIL <br /> <br /> June 12, 1979 <br /> <br />CALL TO ORDER - PLEDGE TO THE FLAG <br /> Mayor Frank Brandes, Jr., called the Regular Meeting of the City Council to <br />order at 8:00 P.M., and then led the Pledge of Allegiance to the flag. <br /> <br />ROLL CALL <br /> Deputy City Clerk Doris George called the roll which is recorded as follows: <br />Councilmembers Kephart, Mercer, Wood, and Mayor Brandes were present.' Council- <br />member Butler was absent. Mr. Brown, City Manager, Mr. Levine, City Attorney, <br />Mr. Campbell, Director of Public Works and Utilities, Mr. Harris, Director of <br />Planning and Community Development, and Mr. Walker, Assistant to the City Manager, <br />were present. <br /> <br />AGE~AAMENDMENTS <br /> Mr. Brown stated that item lla - Determination of Conformance with the General <br />Plan for an ll-lot residential PUD (Planned Unit Development) proposed on 55 acres <br />of the 73 acre site located west of Foothill Road and north of Longview Drive, <br />should be continued to the meeting of June 26, 1979, at the request of the appli- <br />cant. <br /> <br />CONSENT CALENDAR <br /> It was moved by Councilmember Wood, and seconded by Councilmember Mercer, that <br />the following items listed on the Consent Calendar be approved: <br /> <br />a. Approval of City Council Minutes for 5-22-79, 6-4-79, and 6-5-79. <br /> <br />b. Adoption of Resolution No. 79-93!a~pproving Plans and Specifications and <br /> authorizing Call for Bids for the Improvements to the Veterans Memorial <br /> Building. <br /> <br />c. Adoption of Resolution No. 79-94, awarding contract for Assessment District <br /> No. 1974-3, Stoneridge Drive, Signals and Lighting, to Howard Electric, Inc., <br /> 1336 Bayshore Highway, San Jose, in the amount of $95,779.00. <br /> <br />The roll call vote was as follows: <br />AYES: Councilmen Kephart, Mercer, Wood, and Mayor Brandes <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENT: Councilman Butler <br /> <br />~TTERS INITIATED BY COUNCILMEMBERS <br /> Councilmember Wood requested that the Staff Traffic Committee investigate <br />the feasibility of putting in dividers instead of medians on Hopyard Road and <br />Valley Avenue to allow more space for wal~ays and bicycle paths. <br /> <br /> Councilmember Wood asked if the City could assist in alleviating the school <br />bussing problem in the Pleasanton Meadows area. Mr. Brown advised that the City <br />has no plans for public or mass transit. <br /> <br /> <br />
