It was moved by Councilmember Butler, and <br />seconded by Councilmember I~ood, that the City Council commend John Edmands for his <br />outstanding service to the community in journalism as well as many other areas of <br />interest. <br />The roll call vote was as follows: <br />AYES: Councilmen Butler, Kephart, Mercer, Wood, and Mayor Brandes <br />NOES:, None <br />ABSENT: None <br /> <br /> Councilmember Mercer stated that the separation in the sidewalk on ttopyard Road <br />between the bridge and Valley Trails Drive South, that he brought to the attention <br />of staff recently, was now worse than before. Mr. Campbell advised he thought this <br />matter had been taken care of but that he would check it out to be sure the problem <br />was corrected. <br /> <br /> Councilmember Mercer stated the portable toilets at the Youth Sports Park were <br />extremely filthy and presented a health hazard. He requested staff to determine who <br />was responsible for cleaning the toilets and to see that this problem was corrected, <br /> <br /> Councilmember Kephart asked when the proposed Recreational Vehicle parking ordi- <br />nance would be presented for consideration. Staff advised this matter would be on <br />the next agenda. <br /> <br /> Councilmember Kephart urged citizens to join him in not using any gasoline credit <br />cards for the next 60 days in order to determine whether or not any increase in <br />gasoline prices was really necessary. <br /> <br /> 2. 5/8/79 <br /> <br /> <br />
