It was moved by Councilmember Butler, and seconded by Councilmember I~ood, that the City Council commend John Edmands for his outstanding service to the community in journalism as well as many other areas of interest. The roll call vote was as follows: AYES: Councilmen Butler, Kephart, Mercer, Wood, and Mayor Brandes NOES:, None ABSENT: None Councilmember Mercer stated that the separation in the sidewalk on ttopyard Road between the bridge and Valley Trails Drive South, that he brought to the attention of staff recently, was now worse than before. Mr. Campbell advised he thought this matter had been taken care of but that he would check it out to be sure the problem was corrected. Councilmember Mercer stated the portable toilets at the Youth Sports Park were extremely filthy and presented a health hazard. He requested staff to determine who was responsible for cleaning the toilets and to see that this problem was corrected, Councilmember Kephart asked when the proposed Recreational Vehicle parking ordi- nance would be presented for consideration. Staff advised this matter would be on the next agenda. Councilmember Kephart urged citizens to join him in not using any gasoline credit cards for the next 60 days in order to determine whether or not any increase in gasoline prices was really necessary. 2. 5/8/79
