Matters for the Information of the Council <br /> Mr. Brown presented his Information Report dated March 7, 1979, regarding <br />the Valley Volunteer Bureau Women's Re-Entry Program. <br /> <br /> Mr. Broom presented the City Council Agenda Planning Report for b~rch, <br />April and May. <br /> <br /> Mr. Brown presented his Information Report dated March 7, 1979, regarding <br />the Police Department Annual Activity Report. <br /> <br />REPORTS OF THE CITY ATTORNEY <br />Report on Train Speeds <br /> ~,~. Levine presented his report dated March 8, 1979, regarding this matter. <br /> <br /> After discussion, Council instructed the City Attorney to ~rite a letter to <br />the appropriate agencies in an attempt to regular train speeds through Pleasanton <br />when carrying hazardous materials, before enacting an ordinance to effect this <br />control. <br /> <br />Condominium Conversion Moratorium <br /> Mr. Levine presented a draft ordinance which would place condominium conver- <br />sion into a moratorium for four months to allow Council additional time for review <br />of this matter. <br /> <br /> Mr. Mike Peel, 7898 Oak Creek Court, requested that his two-unit complex be <br />exempted from the proposed ordinance. <br /> <br /> Mr. Bill Hirst, 478 Ewing Drive, requested that his four-unit complex be <br />exempted from the proposed ordinance. <br /> <br /> Mr. Ron Archer, 1715 Greenwood Road, stated he felt it was important for <br />the community to have condominiums and that the moratorium was not warranted. <br /> <br /> Mr. William Kovac, 3124 Weymouth Court, stated he concurred with the regula- <br />tions as presented in the draft ordinance. <br /> <br /> After discussion, it was moved by Councilmember Butler, and seconded by <br />Councilmember Mercer, that Ordinance No. 880, to be read by title only and <br />waiving further reading thereof, establishing a moratorium on conversion of <br />existing multiple family rental dwellings to condominiums, exempting the two <br />complexes presently under construction,and making findings of emergency set <br />forth therein, be introduced and adopted as an urgency measure. <br />The roll call vote was as follows: <br />AYES: Councilmen Butler, Kephart, Mercer, Wood, and Mayor Brandes <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENT: None <br /> <br />COMMUNICATIONS <br /> There were no communications presented at this meeting. <br /> <br />CITY COUNCIL CALENDAR <br /> Mr. Brown presented the Calendar for the information of the Council. <br /> <br />EXECUTIVE SESSION <br /> Mayor Brandes recessed the meeting at 10:05 P.M., to an Executive Session <br />to discuss personnel. <br /> <br /> Mayor Brandes reconvened the meeting at 11:45 P.M. <br /> <br /> 9. 3/13/79 <br /> <br /> <br />
