Adoption of Resolution No. 79-32, accepting improvements for the installation <br /> of traffic signals at Santa Rita Road and West Las Positas Boulevard, Project <br /> No. 78-6, approving final payment to Steiny and Company, Inc., in the amount <br /> of $1,106.01, and authorizing Notice of Completion be filed. <br /> <br /> The roll call vote was as follows: <br /> AYES: Councilmen Butler, Kephart, Mercer, Wood, and Mayor Brandes <br /> NOES: None <br /> ABSE~: None <br /> <br /> ~ ~yor Brandes stated that members of the D~olay were in the audience to re- <br /> ceive the Proclamation approved by City Council tonight, proclaiming March 18-24, <br /> 1979, as DeMolay Week in Pleasanton. Mayor Brandes read the Proclamation and <br /> presented it to representatives of the DeMolay. The DeMolay organization pre- <br /> sented an American flag to the City of Pleasanton in recognition of the DeMolay <br /> in this community. <br /> <br />MATTERS INITIATED BY COUNCILMEMBERS <br /> Park and Recreation Commissioner Appointments <br /> Mayor Brandes stated that interviews were conducted earlier this evening to <br /> consider condidates for the two vacancies on the Park and Recreation Commission, <br /> and that it was now in order to nominate candidates to fill these positions. <br /> <br /> It was moved by Councilmember Butler, and seconded by Councilmember Wood, <br /> to nominate Evelyn King as a member of the Park and Recreation Commission. <br /> <br /> It was moved by Councilmember Kephart, and seconded by Councilmember Mercer, <br />nominating Jim Bruno and Don Burdusis as members of the Park and Recreation Com- <br />mission. <br /> <br /> Council voted by ballot for the three candidates nominated with the following <br />results: <br /> <br /> Jim Bruno 4 votes <br /> Evelyn King 3 votes <br /> Don Burdusis 2 votes <br /> <br /> It was moved by Councilmember Butler, and seconded by Councilmember Mercer, <br />that Resolution No. 79-33, appointing Jim Bruno to serve as a member of the Park <br />and Recreation Commission, to fill the expired term of Henry Gomez, said term to <br />expire February 15, 1983, be adopted. <br />The roll call vote was as follows: <br />AYES: Councilmen Butler, Kephart, Mercer, Wood, and Mayor Brandes <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENT: None <br /> <br /> It ~as moved by Councilmember Butler, and seconded by Councilmember Mercer, <br />that Resolution No. 79-34, appointing Evelyn King to serve as a member of the <br />Park and Recreation Commission, to fill the expired term of Jerry Wilfley, said <br />term to ~pire February 15, 1983, be adopted. <br />The roll call vote was as follows: <br />AYES: Councilmen Butler, Kephart, Mercer, Wood, and Mayor Brandes <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENT: None <br /> <br /> 3. 3/13/79 <br /> <br /> <br />
