Adoption of Resolution No. 79-248, accepting work and final contract costs and <br /> authorizing filing of Notice of Completion, Assessment District No. 1974-3, <br /> Stoneridge Center, Stoneridge Utilities. <br /> <br /> The roll call vote was as follows: <br /> AYES: Councilmen Butler, Kephart, Mercer, Wood, and Mayor Brandes <br /> NOES: None <br /> ABSENT: None <br /> <br /> MATTERS INITIATED BY COUNCILMEMBERS <br /> Mayor Brandes stated that with regard to the general plan a housing element <br /> was being done by the Planning Department at this time and he would like to suggest <br /> that the land use element be added to this review and that a citizens committee be <br /> formulated to study these two elements and report back to the Planning Commission <br /> and City Council with recommendations. <br /> <br /> Councilmember Mercer stated that seven of the general plan amendment applica- <br /> tions have been initiated by the City to bring zoning in conformance with the General <br /> Plan and he suggested the study encompass those areas where zoning is not in confor- <br /> mance with the General Plan. <br /> <br /> Mayor Brandes stated he did not feel the study should be limited to residential <br /> but should include land use in general. <br /> <br /> After discussion, it was moved by Mayor Brandes, and seconded by Councilmember <br /> Mercer, that the City Manager be instructed to prepare a report with suggestions for <br /> the formulation of a citizens general plan review committee with specific study of <br /> land use and housing elements, said report to be considered at the City Council meet- <br /> ing of January 8, 1980. <br /> The roll call vote was as follows: <br /> AYES: Councilmen Butler, Kephart, Mercer, Wood, and Mayor Brandes <br /> NOES: None <br /> ABS~qT: None <br /> <br /> Mayor Brandes stated he had been requested by citizens in Dublin for the <br /> Pleasanton City Council to take a position relative to Dublin incorporation. Mayor <br /> Brandes advised that the Council, on March 29, 1979, passed Resolution No. 79-45 that <br /> the City not take a position in opposition to the incorporation plans for Dublin- <br /> San Ramon, for the reason that these citizens had the right to control their own <br /> destiny. <br /> <br /> 2. 12/11/79 <br /> <br /> <br />
