agreement between the State and Federal Agencies and the Sierra Club, and stated <br />there was much confusion regarding all pertinent information related to the 1-580 <br />modified agreement. After discussion, it was moved by Councilmember Mercer, and <br />seconded byMayor Brandes, that the City Council rescind its previous position <br />taken on October 9, 1979, that the City Council go on record in support of adding <br />a ~ruck lane to the eastbound direction of 1-580 and to maintain the Diamond Lane <br />as it now exists, but also maintaining Council's previous position that the Diamond <br />Lane should be opened for full traffic use; pending further information on this <br />matter. <br />The roll call vote was as follows: <br />AYES: Councilmen Butler, Kephart, Mercer, Wood, and Mayor Brandes <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENT: None <br /> <br /> Mayor Brandes presented a letter from Supervisor Valerie Raymond dated November <br />8, 1979, relative to the proposed State Women's Prison and replacement of Santa Rita <br />Jail and requesting additional comments from the City regarding these matters. <br />Councilmember Kephart stated he felt that Council did not have sufficient informa- <br />tion at this time to make comments on these issues.
